Yakuza 6: The Song of Lifewas the first game made using the Dragon Engine, and it shows. The chronological tail end of Kazuma Kiryu’s saga is noticeably smaller compared to earlier entries, and future installments likeYakuzaKiwami 2. Nonetheless, it also had its own unique features, like its Leveling system. This time, the player earned different colored points for different actions: Red for Strength, Blue for Agility, Yellow for Spirit, Green for Technique, and Purple for Charm.

Some activities earn points faster than others, like how mini-games earn Purple Points faster. However, the most effective way of building up enough points for upgrades is toeat lots of food at the restaurants. It’s not enough to just grab any old bunch of items though. The game awards the player bonus XP if they combine certain food items together, and some combinations offer more points than others. Here are the best ones in the game and what they offer.
8Sushi Gin: The Ultimate Sushi Gin
Unless otherwise noted, all the best restaurants for going whole hog at are in Kamurochō. For best results, players should focus on upgrading Kiryu’s Hunger Gauge and Digestion to give him more space for food and let it empty out faster respectively. It’s that orstocking up on AppStim RXto empty the Hunger Gauge manually.
It’ll come in handy. The Ultimate Sushi Gin combo fills it up by 75%. Pick up the Kiwami Set, Kiwami Chirashi, and Kiwami Seafood Rice Bowl to earn 126 Green Points. They can be some of the harder points to earn compared to the others, so Sushi Gin is a good place to prioritize for pigging out.

7Kanrai: A Yakiniku Staple
This Korean BBQ place has been featured in nearly every entry in the series. Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios must really love their kalbi. Their best combo, A Yakiniku Staple, is the richest in points. Order Salted Tongue, Kalbi, and Sirloin to earn 100 Red Points, 85 Blue Points, 70 Yellow points, and 72 Green Points.
While it favors Red Points, it earns a good amount across the board. However, it’ll take up 80% of the Hunger Gauge, leaving him with little room for anything else. But after a few upgrades, it should leave Kiryu with enough space for a tiny extra in between AppStim chugging.

6Ikinari Steak: Eating Wild
If Red Points are a priority, players can’t go wrong with the Eating Wild combo at Ikinari Steak. Combine the Wild Steak 300g and Wild Hamburg Steak 300g for 600g (1.3lbs) of pure beef. That’s a lot of meat and a lot of XP. It provides 165 Red Points, 50 Blue Points, then chump change for the rest.

All the good combos will take up a good percentage of the Hunger Gauge, but few get as large as this one. Eating Wild will fill Kiryu up by 100%. Without upgrades, that’ll max out the Gauge in one serving. If players don’t plan accordingly, they’ll have to make do with Ikinari Steak’s lighter option.
5Ikinari Steak: A Solid Lineup
This involves ordering Tenderloin Steak 200g, Salad, and Soup. Aside from that sounding like a more balanced meal, it’s also more cost-effective than the Eating Wild Combo. It only fills 50% of the Hunger Gauge, leaving room for a second helping or other complimentary items.
On its own, A Solid Lineup offers 125 Red Points, then less significant amounts for the other stats. That’s only a little bit smaller than Eating Wild and requires fewer upgrades or AppStims. So, if players need to grind and only have so much money to burn, A Solid Lineup is a solid option.

4Ringer Hut: Veggie Lover
If that near-cow’s worth of beef from Ikinari Steak has left vegetarian readers feeling nauseous: don’t worry, RGG Studio has an option for them too.Go to Ringer Hutand combine the Vegetable Champon, Vegetable Saraudon, and the Veg-Filled Soup to make the Veggie Lover combo.
Aside from sounding like a healthy, nutritious dish in real life, it earns the player a healthy number of Green Points too. It provides 119 of them, alongside 76 Blue Points for good measure, while only filling up 75% of the Hunger Gauge. Considering that’s only a little bit less than The Ultimate Sushi Gin and easier on the yen, that’s not a bad deal.

3Osaka King: Spicy Combination
This mix of Sichuan Dandan Noodles, Shrimp in Chili Sauce, and Mapo Tofu is also a stomach stuffer, filling it up by 100%. Which isn’t a surprise as it does sound delectable. However, it’s also great at building up Yellow Points, offering up to 140 of them per meal.

That’s handy forupgrading Heat Actions, as well as Kiryu’s other abilities like the Hunger Gauge, Alcohol Tolerance, Boost Sprint, and Clan Member Growth. Even after the Spicy Combination fills him up, Kiryu might earn enough Yellow Points afterward to give him enough room for an extra dish or two.
2Sushi Zanmai: Tunalicious
If push comes to shove, Kamurochō’s otherfresh fish eatery Sushi Zanmaioffers a cheaper fish-based alternative to Sushi Gin and Ringer Hut. The Special Bluefin Tuna Bowl and Tuna Zanmai produce the Tunalicious combo, which earns 96 Green Points and 80 Blue Points.
That’s fairly small and economical. It only fills 60% of the Hunger Gauge, leaving room for either another combo or a second helping after some upgrading. Once the gauge is extended to 120%, the player can fit in two Tunalicious servings before needing to worry about AppStims.

1Jumangoku Chinese Soba: A Cut Above
As suggested earlier, Onomichi doesn’t have a lot of eateries that offer a good amount of XP. La Pente’s Original Course Menu offers 50 Purple Points, which isn’t as much as Bantam’s Depth of 30 Years back in Kamurochō with 68 Purple Points. Then neither provide as much of a return in investment aschatting up Anri Okita onlineregularly.
The best place to scoff nosh for points is Jumangoku Chinese Soba. The Large Onomichi Ramen and Large Cheshire Onomichi Ramen provides Kiryu with 100 Red Points per serving, which is great if the player needs more Strength while stuck in the small Hiroshima Prefecture town. For anything else, they’ll have to do it the old-fashioned way: complete substories and beat up thugs.
