Now it’s time to look to the future, and 2024 is already shaping up to be a solid year for Xbox Game Pass, though its current January line-up could use at least one or two heavy hitters to really kick off the year in style.

One of the best indie games of 2023,Dredgewould be a phenomenal addition to Xbox Game Pass this January. A fishing game with a Lovecraftian twist,Dredgesees players explore the oceans in their trawler, catching fish and selling them for upgrades so that they can venture further out to sea. But there’s far more than just fish waiting for them in the murky depths. Indie games have been a particular strong point forXbox Game Pass in 2023, andDredgecoming to the service in January 2024 would be a great way to carry that through to the new year.
Xbox Game Pass New Game for January 2024: Marvel’s Midnight Suns
First released in December 2022,Marvel’s Midnight Sunsis one of the most underrated games of the last few years. WhileMidnight Sunsreviewed pretty well across the board, it was viewed as a commercial flop by its Take-Two publishers. It could find a new life onXbox Game Pass. A card-based strategy game with a surprisingly rich story and an incredible cast of Marvel heroes and villains,Midnight Sunsis a must-play for strategy fans, and just about anyone who enjoys a darker Marvel narrative.
Xbox Game Pass New Game for January 2024: Armored Core 6
Given the Best Action Game trophy atthe 2023 Game Awards,Armored Core 6would be an excellent addition to Xbox Game Pass in January 2024. Though it doesn’t offer the usual Soulslike experience that FromSoftware is now renowned for,Armored Core 6is an incredible modern interpretation of the classic mech-shooter franchise, and while it may not be a Soulslike,Sekiro’s DNA can be felt throughout the game’s design. Though it’s an unlikely pull for Xbox Game Pass this soon after release, getting it would really kick off 2024 in style.
Xbox Game Pass New Game for January 2024: Viewfinder
A title that’s much more likely to come toXbox Game Pass in 2024,Viewfinderwas one of the more understated indie games of 2023. Only releasing on PC and PlayStation so far, it would be great to see this innovative little puzzle game come to Xbox in the new year, and when it does, it shouldn’t miss the opportunity to be on Xbox Game Pass.
