The experience buff will last until theDragonflightPre-Patch begins, meaning players will not be able to benefit from the Winds of Wisdom when they create their new dracthyr Evoker characters. WhileWorld of Warcrafthas not released a solid date for when the Pre-Patch begins, acredible Blizzard leak placed it on October 25. This date would be in line withWorld of Warcraft’shistorical release schedules, and would give players roughly three weeks to benefit from the Winds of Wisdom buff.

Dragonflightitself just received a November 28 release date, with the Vault of the Incarnates raid opening two weeks later on December 13. Provided the expansion is not delayed, players will have three weeks of powerleveling with the Winds of Wisdom, followed by a month of pre-patch untilDragonflightlaunches. All the while, theDragonflightbeta is ongoing, with more parts of the expansion being added to the Public Test Realm with each build.

Players are gladWorld of Warcraftis bringing back the Winds of Wisdom buff. Theprevious Winds of Wisdom buff inWorld of Warcraftonly lasted for a week, so players were forced to scramble to get as much benefit from it as they could. This run of theWorld of Warcraftbuff is likely to be much longer, giving players plenty of time to level up all of their alts to prepare forDragonflight, or for returning players to catch up in time for the expansion.

A few players are disappointedWorld of Warcraftisn’t running the Winds of Wisdom buff all the way untilDragonflight’slaunch. The Joyous Journeys experience buff inWrath of the Lich King Classiclasted through the pre-patch event, so many playerswant retailWorld of Warcraftto do the same. However, it is important to note thatDragonflightis reducing the amount of experience required to level starting in the pre-patch, easing the leveling process in general. Though the Winds of Wisdom leveling experience will still be faster, leveling after theDragonflightPre-Patch will likely be easier than it was before.
