AKirbyfan has made a unique animation that highlights all the different ways the pink puffball can fly. The fact that Kirby can float around has always been something that’s set the series apart from other platformers, as many might think that the ability was counter-intuitive to the basics of the genre. Instead, it’s become an iconic feature to where it could be argued thatKirbywouldn’t be the same without it.Even though Kirby can already float through the skies, there are some Copy Abilities that he’s used to fly farther and faster throughout the series' run.ForKirby’s30th anniversary, one talented fan has decided to highlight this aspect of the series in a special animation that features almost every way that players can fly across multiple games. The animation focuses on a growing number of playful puffballs soaring high above the clouds.RELATED:Kirby: Return to Dreamland Deluxe Coming to the SwitchThe animation was made as a passion project by Twitter user @highzle, and the love can be felt from the detail put into the flying puffballs at the forefront, to even the smaller Kirbys that can be seen in the back. If fans missed their favorite method of flying inKirby, then they might need to look closer as other abilities such as Parasol and High-Jump are Easter eggs in the background.
Kirby’s friends and their own abilities to float and fly are also represented at the very end as a little treat. Fans in the comments are loving trying to find their favorite Copy Ability, with Jet being the most satisfying one to find as it moves just as fast as one would expect from it. However, some fans have pointed out that theBalloon ability fromKirby Canvas Curseis absent. The animator has yet to comment on if this was on purpose or by accident.
Despite that, the animation is rather cute as it even gives the puffballs their own personalities. The pink Kirby is even seen growing more irritated with each new addition that gets in his way, especially when theCupid Kirby and the UFO Kirbyjoin the line-up. The short video is brimming with personality, which makes it understandable why so many fans love it.
The animation serves as a great tribute to some of the most fun things about Kirby, and it has captured fans' hearts just as much as the30th anniversary dancing Kirby alarm clockhas. With the release ofKirby and the Forgotten Land,Dream Buffet, the 30th Anniversary Music Fest, and tons of merchandise, like a special 30th anniversary nendoroid, it’s easy to say that theKirbyfranchise has had a great year. It seems that Hal Laboratory isn’t done celebrating yet, however, asKirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxeaims to close out the celebrations next February.
