InAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, players can expect to encounter a wide variety of up to 400 characters, each having their own unique quirks. One of the characters that players can meet in the game is Celeste, who is the sister ofmuseum curator Blathers, and a returning character to the series. Celeste will also play an important role for players to acquire the magic wand, allowing them to instantly change their outfits and appearance without having the need to go to a mirror.
To meet up with Celeste, players have to progress in the game and wait for her to visit the island, similar tohow other characters would appear in the game. Celeste usually appears either on the beach after sunset or wandering around somewhere on the island. Upon talking to her, Celeste will explain to the player how she is related to Blathers, and she will also inform players that a meteor shower is bound to happen that night.

To the uninitiated, whenever a meteor shower occurs on the island, players will the opportunityto see a shooting star, allowing players to make a wish. Players will know if their character was able to successfully make a wish when they see them closing their eyes and holding their hands together. Celeste would then provide players a DIY recipe for the magic wand. To craft the wand, players would have to find and collect three Star Fragments and one Large Star Fragment, which can all be found scattered across the island the day after the encounter with Celeste.
Upon gathering the materials,the magic wandcan be acquired, which allows players to store and easily switch between eight outfits. This makes it easier to make a quick outfit change especially for players who have specific outfits planned for different times of the day, given that they won’t need to go back to their homes just to change their clothing.
Of course, apart from Celeste, players can also find other characters by waiting for them to show up and visit, or by purchasing a Nook Miles Ticket and exploring other islands. Out of the 400 characters available inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, players can invite back up to 10 at a time, which is achieved by simply talking to other characters until the option to invite them back to the island pops up.
