The release ofGoat Simulator 3is quickly approaching, and while many aspects of the original sandbox adventure are returning, players should definitely expect the upcoming game to provide plenty of new ways to wreak havoc as the farmyard’s ultimate menace.

Goat Simulator 3, contrary to what its title might suggest, is actually the sequel to its 2014 predecessor of the same name. Coffee Stain Studios’ trademark tongue-in-cheek sense of humor hit the ground running when the new game was announced, no doubt at the expense of those fearing that they’d somehow missedGoat Simulator 2.Perhaps this was done to give fans an idea of what’s to come in the second installment of the absurd goat simulator, Coffee Stain is clearly gearing players up for more than just a few jokes.

To Baa or Not To Baa: What Is There To Do inGoat Simulator 3?

The central concept ofGoat Simulator 3, much like its predecessor, isexceptionally straightforward but intentionally quirky. The sandbox adventure game allows players to live their lives in a town the same way any ordinary goat would. Shenanigans to look out for include clumsily jumping around, needlessly head-butting everything, offering little goat licks to the population, paragliding over a bridge, launching into space, and setting traps for unsuspecting victims. But while the first game provided much-needed goat representation in a genre full of simulations mimicking ordinary, everyday tasks likeEuro Truck Simulator 2orLawn Mowing Simulator,Goat Simulator 3promises a larger amount of nonsensical events, mini-games, and ridiculous content to truly let players role play as the goat they’ve always wanted to be.

The most notable addition toGoat Simulator 3is no doubt the option to play in local or online co-op. Players will be able to invite up to three friends to accompany them in their misadventures, and while other co-op simulations such asStardew ValleyorOvercooked: All you may Eatencourage players to cooperate with one another to tackle whatever challenges they may face,Goat Simulator 3has no intention of telling goats what to do. Whether it be completing mini-games and messing with NPCs together or butting heads to see which goat can cause the most mayhem, co-op is going to keep content fresh and engaging.

Nikhat Ali, a producer for the game, revealed in a post on Playstation Blog that players can look out for an array of mini-games, like “Don’t Touch the Lava” where players will use their parkour skills to climb the highest to avoid rising lava or “Headsplat” where players run around trying to paint as many objects in the world as possible.

Udderly Fabulous: Customizing a Unique Playthrough

The game will also offer a large amount of unique items and skins designed to let players and their friends really stick out from the herd. Ali also revealed that there will be 350 customizable items ranging from “toilet paper shoes and tea-cup hats” to “laser beams shooting out of your eyes and electrified sword-wielding” goats. Coffee Stain Studios recentlyteamed up withFortniteto create a comedic goat skin to promote the upcoming game and show off the work it has been putting in to create these skins.

The amount of resources Coffee Studios poured intoGoat Simulator 3is evident in more than just its cosmetics, however. The originalGoat Simulatorendeared players with its clumsy physics and collision issues, but once the main objectives and exploration had been completed, which clocked in at around 2-3 hours of total gameplay, the humor risked wearing itself out.Goat Simulator 3is clearly making a concerted effort to expand the amount of content available to keep players engaged and coming back, which helps make the $30 USD price tag a bit less intimidating.

By paying attention to what the first game could have done better and enhancing the mechanics that made the experience of nonsensical goat simulation so enticing,Goat Simulator 3is set to offer an absurdly entertaining game for players and their friends to keep coming back to as they truly become the ultimate goat.

Goat Simulator 3releases on November 17 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
