In a December 2021 post on X (formerly Twitter), Tom Henderson, owner of Insider Gaming, stated that “Eclipseis believed to be around 3–4 years away MINIMUM.” While this seemed to indicate a possible 2024 release at the time, Quantic Dream was also struggling to hire staff, and their game engine was not built for such a massive title.
More recently, in a September 2023 interview with IGN, Quantic Dream’s VP, Lisa Pendse, said thatStar Wars Eclipse"exists," but that it’s still “just simmering.” “Just simmering” disappointingly implies that the game isn’t moving along very rapidly (if at all), as it sounds like the game is nowhere near a state where the finishing touches are being put on it. It just doesn’t seem like a 2024 release for thehighly anticipatedStar Warstitleis viable.
As Tom Henderson mentioned in 2021,Star Wars Eclipsewas at least 3–4 years away at the time, so that alone doesn’t rule out the possibility of a 2024 release. However, as there have yet to be any recent formal updates on the game,Star Wars Eclipseis more likely to be released in 2025 or later, especially with Lisa Pendse implying that the game was not ready yet near the end of 2023.
