Warframeis a game geared towards letting every player have their own play style and mix up their attacking options depending on the situation. While some may favor shotguns, launchers, or rifles, there will be others who like the stylistic fighting of using good old-fashioned swords.

Warframehas plenty of swords in the game, as it is a core part of the game’ssci fi ninja battleaesthetic. All weapons across all weapon types can be viable if the player builds them correctly, but it is always best to take a sword that has the best base stats from the get go to guarantee a high chance of succeeding in missions no matter their difficulty.
6Pangolin Prime
The Primed variant of the Pangolin, this weapon has two innate Madurai polarities, deals high Slash damage and has very high base damage, critical multiplier, and status chance. The Pangolin Prime is an impressive sword that can be viable for late-game content and is not as Forma-reliant as other weapons.
Players must be at least Mastery Rank 14 and can be obtained via the Void Relic section. Various Prime items are in a cycle of rotation and so will sometimes be unobtainable. However, since Digital Extremes rotates the Prime Vault, players will one day be able to obtain weapons that are vaulted once more. If they can’t wait, players can earn onplatinum onWarframethat can be used to buy the weapon from other players.
5Vitrica
The signature weapon of Nihil, the Vitrica is an interesting heavy bladed sword that can deal tons of damage and has a unique feature; players can use the blade to emit a glass blast attack using Aim Glide that can then be made to shatter with a Slam Attack. It’s veryWarframe-esque and leads to fun combat content that is even useful on late-game content such asWarframe’s Steel Path.

Players can use this weapon after reaching Mastery Rank 13 and can be obtained by defeating Nihil in Nightwave. While Nihil was originally a boss battle during Nightwave Series 3, players now have to obtain an Enter Nihil’s Oubliette key that can be purchased for 60 Nightwave credits.
4Tenet Livia
The Tenet Livia is a very powerful weapon that any Tenno who prefers using the sword melee weapon type inWarframe. Dealing primarily Slash damage, this weapon has a high crit chance, above-average attack speed, status chance, and critical multiplier. It is one of thebest Tenet weaponsthat players can have a lot of fun with.
The Tenet Livia can be purchased from Erno Glast of the Perrin Sequence syndicate for 40 Corrupted Hotkeys. Players do not need to be aligned with the Perrin Sequence to be able to buy it from Glast, making this weapon relatively accessible compared to other high-ranking swords.
3Paracesis
Initially hidden from the Codex, the Paracesis is an enigmatic heavy-bladed weapon that in-lore is known as the “Sentient Slayer”. Reflecting its moniker, the Paracesis can have a damage bonus to Sentients and also remove all of their damage resistances. Another rare feature is the sword’s ability to progress beyond level 30 all the way to level 40.

Its damage is impressive, and it has the highest critical chance out of all heavy blades, meaning players can useWarframe’s must-use modsto mod it for critical damage. Players can obtain this weapon by completing the Chimera Prologue quest and having reached Mastery Rank 10.
2Gram Prime
There are a good portion of players that would argue for the Gram Prime being the strongest sword in all ofWarframe. Dealing primarily Slash damage, it has the second-highest base damage out of all heavy blades and great crit chance, attack range, and high-status chance. Unfortunately, it is let down by having a very low attack speed, so players may want to think about what they prioritize in a weapon.
Players need to be at least Mastery Rank 14 and obtain the weapon through Void Relics, a system that some players may argue issomethingWarframeshould fix. Void Relics rotate in a semi-predictable fashion, meaning primed items will sometimes be available and sometimes not. However, nothing is unobtainable inWarframeforever, so players can rest easy that they will one day be able to obtain the Gram Prime even if they can’t obtain it currently.
1Nikana Prime
Most would argue that the Nikana Prime is the best sword onWarframe. As with all other Prime weapons, this acts as a direct upgrade over all the stats of the original Nikana and by extension the Dragon Nikana, making it highly effective and useful for players who enjoy this weapon type.Warframeis one of thebest sci-fi MMOsand a big reason for that is how it allows players almost complete freedom in the way they play the game.
Players must unlock this weapon via the Void Relic system, so depending on when they go for it the weapon may or may not be in the Prime Vault, which dictates whether the weapon is available.
