Many long-time players ofVampire Survivorshave wished the game kept track of how many enemies the player has killed in total. The results screen for a stage shows how many enemies were killed for that run, but there isn’t a results page for the game. The results screen also fails to show how many of each type of enemy was killed. As of the last update, there is a Bestiary feature that can be unlocked, which provides information on specific enemy types - including how many of each type the player has slain.

This Bestiary is a Pokedex (of sorts) and keeps track of how many of each type of enemy the player has killed. Accessing the Bestiary requires it to be unlocked first. Fortunately, unlocking this useful feature is not difficult.

Finding The Ars Gouda

To unlock the Bestiary, the player mustfind the relic known as the Ars Gouda. This relic is located in the Dairy Plant stage far to the south of the starting location - beyond the Gold Ring. If a player has unlocked the Red Death character, it should be used for this task sinceRed Death is extremely fast. Beginner players might want to hang around the starting area and gain about five levels, as well as some additional weapons.

The Garlic is always a smart pick for the Dairy Plant due to its ability to stop enemy projectiles - and there are numerous enemies in the Dairy Plant that shoot projectiles at the player. It might also be tempting to go south-west and get the Wings passive item for a speed boost, but this will not help the player reach the Ars Gouda any faster. There isn’t a guardian protecting the Ars Gouda. When players reach this relic, they should just go ahead and grab it.

After this, the player can exit the stage and end the run; however, continuing the run tothe 30-minute markdoesn’t present any hazards to unlocking the Bestiary. The Ars Gouda will continue to appear in the Dairy Plant until it is obtained. So, a failed attempt to retrieve it isn’t the end of the world. Once the player picks up the Ars Gouda, it will stop appearing when playing the Dairy Plant.

The Bestiary

Once the Ars Gouda is acquired and that run is ended, theBestiary becomes accessible from the main menu. For now, there are only 17 entries in the Bestiary, but more will be added in future updates. The entries also include how much maximum health an enemy creature has, its movement speed, Might (attack power), any resistances or skills, and which stage it can be encountered.

Some entries have a golden-colored font instead of a white font. These enemies are tied to unlockable achievements. The total number of a specific enemy type the player has killed doesn’t start at zero; in fact, long-time players might have kill counts in the hundreds of thousands when first accessing the Bestiary. This indicatesVampire Survivorshas been keeping track of specific enemy kills. The current entries include:
