During her recentValorantstream, aTwitchstreamer named BlessX was interrupted by the sound of gunshots outside her home. She later assured herTwitch viewersand social media followers that she was fine, but still couldn’t hide the fear and panic she felt as the shooting happened while she was live.Boasting 6,700 followers on Twitch, BlessX ismainly aValorantstreamerwho often plays with friends or by herself. She also streams other games likeGrand Theft Auto OnlineandLittle Nightmares. On February 8, BlessX went live to playValorantwith a friend, and while they were talking and chilling in the game’s lobby, she started hearing loud gunshots right outside of her home.RELATED:Hasan Piker’s Community Raises $1 Million For Turkey-Syria Earthquake ReliefIn aTwitchclip that was shared on various social media platforms, BlessX was seen getting startled by the gunfire, which she said was happening in her apartment or condominium’s hallway. The shots lasted a few seconds, leaving the streamer visibly shaken as her friend tried to console her in the voice chat. After the incident, BlessX immediately picked up the phone and reported it to the police, and took a few minutes to compose herself before continuing with her stream. Many concerned viewers advised her to pause the stream for the day, so she could take a breather, especially after a distressing incident like that.
BlessX later tweeted that she was “blessed to be here” in reference to what happened during her stream. She also reposted the Twitch clip on her TikTok, where she detailed thata stray bullethit her streaming room and that there were bullet holes found in her living room. She also used the platform to talk about what to do when there’s active gunfire, which was to “get low and get down on the ground” to protect oneself from getting hit. She explained that she was so shocked and scared during her stream that she wasn’t able to get down on the floor while the shooting was happening.
Over on the LivestreamFail subreddit, many Twitch viewers sent their well-wishes to BlessX, hoping that she was okay after that possibly traumatic experience (the streamer was able to go live on Twitch a day after). Many of them also provided safety tips similar to the one she already shared on her TikTok to help out others. Overall, people seemed sympathetic of BlessX’s situation, which is needed at a time whenstreamers can get swatted, sometimes while live on stream, and other scary things that they would often deal with.
