Tunic, the adorable adventure game from Andrew Shouldice and Finji, is finally out after seven years of development. The game isalready receiving widespread critical acclaim, but it’s also proving more difficult than many people expected. Enemies hit hard, and the starting weapon doesn’t offer much in the way of damage output.

Fortunately,Tunichas a much more powerful weapon up for grabs. There’s only one problem: it can be a bit tricky to find. Players will have to navigate their way through several regions and play close attention to their surroundings in order to make it all the way to the Hero’s Grave and claim the Hero’s sword for themselves.
The Overworld
When startingTunicup for the first time, players will find themselves at the beginning of a deceptively large area. Once they’ve picked up the first guidebook page and claimed the stick as their first melee weapon, players should head up the stone steps to the second level. Here, they’ll find a wooden signpost with the words “Hero’s Grave,” and a small sword icon etched into it.

The signpost points toward a locked door, so for now, players will need to head up the next few flights of stairs to the fox shrine at the top. Praying at this shrine will restore Tunic’s health and save the game, but it will also respawn any defeated enemies, so use it with discretion.Go down the set of steps to the left of the shrine and across the wooden bridge to find a golden key lying on the ground. This key will unlock the door near the “Hero’s Grave” sign, so it’s time to backtrack.
Unlock the door and pass through the house, making sure to pick up the guidebook page along the way. Once through the house, players will be greeted with a ladder leading up to the next level and another leader heading down. Take the ladders up past the small pond with a waterfall to reach a landing with a strange, metal object resting on a stone pedestal bearing a plaque.

Defeat the nearby enemies, take the narrow steps up to the stone walkway, and walk through the tall grass near the blocky vegetation.Follow the wooden sign that says “East Forest"and that points to a temple doorway at the end of the walkway.
East Belltower
Once inside the East Belltower, players will be greeted by a mob of small, slime-like enemies that are relatively easy to take down. Dispatch them and claim the guidebook page at the other end of the chamber before walking around the narrow stone steps and down the hallway on the right.

A ladder leads down a hole in the ground, but halfway down the ladder ends. Tunic will fall into a chamber with a fox shrine and an empty treasure chest.
East Forest
Once in the East Forest, players should take out the nearby, spiky enemies before pressing on. Watch out for their ranged attacks, and take note that they can attack Tunic even through the fox’s combo strikes. Up ahead is another wooden sign that once more points toward the Hero’s Grave, but a slight detour into Guardhouse 1 to the left of the sign will reward players with a health potion, provided they can best the enemies within.
Past the wooden sign is another fox shrine, followed by a yellow dais with another guidebook page on top. Pick up the page before turning toward the nearby temple entrance.Avoid the entrance and head toward the signpostnext to the column on the right side of the doorway.Again, this signpost indicates the Hero’s Grave is ahead, and players should follow this pathway around the side of the temple.

Path To Hero’s Grave
Take out the spiky enemies and head down the path until reaching a set of steps that are blocked by thick vegetation. Walk down the fallen pillar onto a side path to find two more spiky enemies. Dispatch them and follow the side path around to reach the top of the steps. Take out the Guard up ahead to reach a raised gate blocking the path forward.
Head up the stairs on the left of the gate and walk across the top of the stone archway to reach a mechanism on the other side. Lifting this mechanism will open the gate, allowing players to pass through and reach the Hero’s Grave on the other side.Approach the memorial to claim the sword, which can be used in combat and to cut down the thick vegetation blocking many ofTunic’s pathways.

Tunicis available now on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Game Pass.
