TheLast of Usfan film received an exclusive sneak peek trailer today, revealing that it will officially be titledProject Spores - All We Lost. The fan film is ultimately a non-profit “collaborative project bringing cosplayers and creatives together.” This offers these creatives a chance to work together and share their mutual love ofNaughty Dog’s post-apocalyptic franchise. But instead of producing completely original scenes betweenThe Last of Us 2’s events, the trailer seems to suggest that the fan film will be adapting sequences from the game, at least primarily.

The trailer itself opens with Abi Le Guilcher’s Ellie in a derelict building. Ellie wipes down an acoustic guitar before she prepares to strum it, withThe Last of Us 2’s memorable close-up shot of Ellie’s hand stretching and trembling overtop of the guitar’s strings. The trailer features composer Niamh Sygrove’s somber cover of “Through the Valley” alongside the film’s title card, and Ellie leaves the guitar before she heads out. Nieke Tebeest’s Abby sits introspectively in the woods, and the title card reappears to reveal that the fan film will debut on YouTube in February of next year.

The trailer ends with a wide shot of a sprawling, shallow shoreline, where Ellie and Abby encounter one another for an epic confrontation. The description that accompanies the trailer details the fan film’s extensive cast, which reveals that two clickers will also be featured. Both Ellie and Abby’s perspectives will be given ample screentime, as demonstrated by the casting selections ofThe Last of Us 2characterssuch as Maria, Tommy, Owen, and Lev.

Project Spores - All We Lostis set to launch early next year, so fans will not have to wait long to watch this impressive-looking fan film on YouTube.

The Last of Us 2is available now on PS4.
