However, players might soon find themselves with too many weapons that they will likely not use as theylevel up, and that’s when the dismantling mechanic comes into play. There are a plethora of ways to farm weapons inThe First Descendant. The easiest of them all is to simply progress through the main story, and players would automatically get some drops through the enemies. Apart from that, players can also rely on the crafting mechanic or take part in Void Intercept Battles to get somerare weapons. Once players have found a few weapons they will be using, it is probably a good idea to dismantle the ones that are underutilized.
How to Dismantle Weapons in The First Descendant
Dismantling weapons inThe First Descendantis actually a tricky process, although it barely takes a few seconds to do it. This is because the feature can only be accessed from one specific section of the menu, and simply heading to the inventory isn’t enough. Instead, what players need to do isselect a weapon from the inventory screen, which will bring up another section that will have their other weapons, too. It doesn’t matter which weapon one chooses, as other weapons are shown in the inventory, too.
Now, this is where players need to be extremely careful. Dismantling weapons is a one-way process, so players need to be extra careful that they don’t break down apowerful weapon they need. In order to dismantle it, players will need tomove their cursor to the weapon they want to break down and then press R2/RT/J to mark it as junk. When a weapon is marked as junk, players will be able to see the small orange colored-trash icon in the top left corner of the weapon icon. One can select multiple weapons as junk as well. Additionally, players can also select all the items currently on their screen as junk.
With that done, players will now need topress the key for dismantling which is holding down R2/RT on the controller. This will dismantle all the weapons that have been marked as junk, and players will get items in return. Additionally, one can also make use of the filtering feature to narrow down weapons by level and tier, and then use the junk all option to get rid of alllow-level weaponsat once.
