“We talked aboutStep Brothers, and then Adam and I got sidetracked with other things. We had a whole story where John and I follow our parents to live in a retirement community and attempt to convince them that we earned the right to retire as well.”
That definitely sounds like a hilarious storyline that could work well inStep Brothers2. It fits in with the main plot of the original movie: two adult men becoming step siblings and doing their best not to grow up.

Step Brothers Is Too Perfect To Need Step Brothers 2
While there are somecomedy sequels as good as the original, that isn’t always the case. In fact, most of the time, fans are disappointed by sequels since often, the jokes feel stale, the characters are dull, and there is nothing going on that is worth writing home about.

IfStep Brothers 2did follow the storyline that Will Ferrell spoke about, it’s likely that it would be just as humorous asStep Brothers. However, it doesn’t feel necessary. Ferrell and Reilly played their parts so well that fans are happy to watch Dale and Brennan act silly over and over again. “You have to resist the temptation. It’s just tough because the things everyone wants you to do sequels of are special because there’s not a sequel of [them]. I guess we’ll see, but as of now there are no plans. We just don’t want to be doing sequels of everything.”
