How to Get More Skill Points

As mentioned above,Starfieldplayers will want to get more skill points in order to unlock more skillsor upgrade previously unlocked skillsto a higher rank. Obtaining skill points is actually pretty easy, as players get one every time that they gain enough experience to level up. While some games have other methods for acquiring skill points, this is not the case forStarfield.Leveling up is the only way to acquire additional skill points.Sincethere is no level capinStarfield, this will allow dedicated players to eventually acquire enough skill points to unlock and upgrade every skill in the game.

How to Use Skill Points

Once players have acquired a skill point and want to spend it, they should open up the character menu and select the skills tab in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. On this menu, players will see all available skills under Physical, Social, Combat, Science, and Tech. At the start of the game, players will have three unlocked skills by default. What skills are unlocked will dependon the background that players chosefor their character.

After navigating to the skill that players want to unlock and selecting it, they will get more information about the skill and what the perks are for each rank. Simply use the button prompt next to ‘unlock’ (the ‘A’ button on an Xbox controller) to acquire the skill. Alternatively, if players want to upgrade a skill they can do that with a skill point as well.

One important thing to keep in mind is that a skill cannot be upgraded to the next rank until players have completed the challenge required to unlock it. For example, in order to get the second rank of Ballistics, players will need to kill 20 enemies while using a ballistic weapon. Each skill rank has a unique challenge, so players will want to pay attention to what the requirements are.

Starfieldis available now on PC, Steam, and Xbox Series X/S.
