One such longtime fan of theStar Warsfranchise is accomplished actress Taissa Farmiga, Hollywood star and sister of fellow performer Vera Farmiga, star ofThe Conjuringand the Disney Plus seriesHawkeye. Speaking toJosh Howoritzon an episode of hisHappy Sad Confusedpodcast subsequently uploaded to his YouTube channel, Taissa Farmiga revealed that she failed after she auditioned for a role in the post-Disney acquisition Star Wars Cinematic Universe for a unique reason. Discussing how she never went into an audition with any expectations, Farmiga clarified that there was one exception. “I mean, I think that Star Wars was probably the only one where I was like ‘wow’ ‘did they like it?’ ‘what’s going on?’” the actress confessed. “Because again, another thing I grew up with was Star Wars. I loved playing…Star Wars: The Old Republicvideo games with my brother growing up and… that was my thing.”

“I know at that one audition, I didn’t do so well because I wanted it so badly. So that’s why I attempt to keep my expectations… I couldn’t do it! It was also hard because those auditions were- it was one of the few times that I had to do a cold read, where they didn’t send you the materials before," Farmiga added. “You can get there an hour ahead of time, and usually, I’m good at memorizing lines like, it goes quick and easy, but I was just like ‘oh, this would be so cool.'” While she wasn’t successful on that occasion, Farmiga has still had a stellar career, most notably being an important face onAmerican Horror Story, playing the role ofSister Irene in theNunfranchise, and voicing Raven in animated DC projects for many years.

While she might have missed that opportunity, Farmiga could still find a place in the newStar Warsuniverse. Disney is focusing on their internally controlled IP as part of their new content strategy, withStar Wars: Ahsokadoing numbers on streaming, andoneStar Warsmovie is still aliveamid the strikes organized by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA.
