Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 – The Sith Lordsis out now on the Nintendo Switch, with fans once again (or for the first time) embarking on the journey of the Jedi Exile. In defeating the Sith Lords pursuing them and healing their wound in the Force, the Jedi Exile will pick up a ton ofcompanions inKnights of the Old Republic 2.
Of these companions, the droid HK-47 is one of the most popular choices and pairs well with aDark SideKOTOR 2character. HK-47 ultimately works with any character, but his general outlook and desires work best with the Dark Side. Ultimately, Unlocking him requires players to find 4 HK-47 parts across the galaxy. This means players could stumble from planet to planet before they find the parts they need, but there is a pretty quick way to unlock him, should players know where to look.

Players will findHK-47 aboard the Ebon Hawk, unlocking a quest to find the parts and complete him. It takes some time to do no matter what, but should they pick up the first two parts in the opening sections of the game and travel to the right planet afterward, they’ll be using HK47 for a good chunk of the game.

Star Wars: KOTOR 2 – The First Two HK-47 Parts Locations
The best piece of advice forunlocking HK-47 is to defeat every HK-50 Assassin Droida player comes across and make sure to loot them. The reason being is that 3 of the 4 parts can be looted from these enemies. Before the otherStar Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2planets in the galaxy open up, players need to complete Peragus and Telos. Luckily, there’s an encounter on each with HK-50 (one droid on Peragus, three on Telos) that cannot be missed. Players should ensure they loot these droids and obtain the HK parts on their body, and as long as they do that, they will have the first two parts. These combat encounters are NOT missable.
OnPeragus, players will encounter an HK-50 droidthat they can speak with. Not then, but once they finish the subsection of the area, the Droid will attack. It will be when they reunite withAtton, anotherKOTOR 2companion, and so as long as players are mindful, they’ll obtain the first part after defeating it.

The Second HK-47 part is found near the end of Telos, when they are looking for thestolen Ebon Hawk. They’ll take a shuttle to apolar region on Telos’ surface, sometime after obtaining Bao-Dur, and the shuttle will crash. Players will be ambushed by three HK-50 droids, and on one of them, players will find the second part.

Star Wars: KOTOR 2 – Travel to Nar Shadaa First
After completingthe encounter with Atris on Telos inKOTOR 2, the galaxy map will open up. Players will have the choice to travel to Onderon (which at first redirects to its moon Dxun),the Sith planet of Korriban, the former Jedi home of Dantooine, or Nar Shadaa (also known as the Smuggler’s Moon). They can obtain these parts in some locations on every planet, including from a Droid merchant found early on Dantooine, but players should travel to Nar Shadaa first. The final two HK-47 parts can be obtained on Nar Shadaa.
Star Wars: KOTOR 2 – The Third HK-47 Part Location
Players are able to obtain the third HK-47 part as soon asthey land on Nar Shadaa. Within that first area, players should travel to the location seen in the image above, and they’ll find a droid merchant. They’ll have the HK-47 part in their inventory. By this point, players should have enough credits to easily obtain this part.
Star Wars: KOTOR 2 – The Last HK-47 Part Location
From there, players will need to continue the main story on Nar Shadaa. Players will have to complete some of theStar Warsplanet’s side quests before they are contacted about a meeting with Goto. Things go awry, and eventually, they’ll bebreaking into a warehouse as T3-M4. They’ll need to go through this section, and by the end of it, they’ll be ambushed by three HK-50 droids they have to defeat as T3-M4.This combat encounter is NOT missable.
It’s not as hard as it sounds, and upon one of their bodies, players can loot the last HK-47 part. From there, it’s a matter of finishing Nar Shadaa, returning to the Ebon Hawk, and placing theremaining pieces into the defunct HK-47.
