A gamer online has posed an interestingStar Wars Jedi: Survivortheory that would make Rick the Door Technician a real villain after all.Star Wars Jedi: Survivorhas been out for a short while now, and gamers still have plenty of theories about Respawn’s title.
There are plenty of interestingboss fights inStar Wars Jedi: Survivor, and the battle against Rick the Door Technician is perhaps the greatest surprise of all. Easily defeated with a single lightsaber hit, Rick comes on the back of a truly grueling section of the game. When his boss bar appears, it’s a harrowing moment for players as they think they’re in for another tough boss fight. As Rick the Door Technician charges toward the player screaming at the top of his lungs, players have more of an idea about what’s actually happening. While he’s not exactly a secret - he’s part of the game’s normal route - it’s still a brilliant surprise for gamers.

The interesting theory was posted by Redditor Superextremeplayer9, who floated the idea that all the locked doors on Zeffo were down to Rick the Door Technician’s handiwork. It would certainly make sense. Rick isn’t exactly a master in combat, and he has to bring some value to the Empire. This theory would bring a lot to Rick the Door Technician’s character, and in a way make him more of a fearsome foe than he currently is. It was recently revealed that489 players died to Rick the Door Technician inStar Wars Jedi: Survivor, so for some, he’s clearly enough of a challenge the way he is.
Other players in the thread were so taken in by the theory, that they couldn’t help but attribute other things to Rick the Door Technician. One user even claimed that without Cal killing him, Rick would have been around to ensure Leia remained locked on the Death Star. There have been plenty of crazyStar Warstheoriesposed by the fan base over the years, but even this one seems a step too far to be plausible.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem as though Rick the Door Technician will be making a big return any time soon, with his fate at the hands of Cal Kestis effectively sealed. WithStar Warsthough, it can seem like no one is every truly gone, and the only way to know for sure would be the release of someStar Wars Jedi: SurvivorDLC. Right now, Respawn has remained tight-lipped on the prospect, although the game’s success could see that attitude change over the coming months.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivoris available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
