When it comes to the world of cosplay,Star Warsis often one of the most popular projects that cosplayers seem to attempt to replicate. There are several cosplayers around the world who have at some point recreated the outfits worn by one of the severalStar Warscharacters. CosplayerReybeccais just one of them and in her latest attempt at cosplay, she has succeeded in looking exactly like Daisy Ridley’s Rey Skywalker.
It seems likeRey’s character fromStar Warswas Reybecca’s inspiration for her Reddit username, too. In the cosplay, Reybecca has nailed Rey’s look fromtheStar Warssequel trilogy, complete with the robe-like vest, off-white tunic, and arm wraps. She is even seen holding a bag that hangs over her hip with the help of a brown belt, similar to the one Rey wears. Keep in mind this is the look fromThe Force Awakenswhen Rey is seen as a simple scavenger. Her look changes over the course of the trilogy as her journey takes her deeper into the world of the First Order.
Her outfits transform based on the stage of the journey that she is in. InStar Wars: The Last Jedi, Rey is seen discovering her power and embracing the force, which seems to be a part of the life of a Jedi. As she struggles between the light and dark, her clothing becomes greyer. InThe Rise of Skywalker,Rey truly embraces her role as a Jedi and her clothes change accordingly. She essentially goes back to wearing her original costume, albeit in all white. She still retains the belt, which she uses as a gun holster, the brown braces around her wrists, and the boots.
Rey first appeared inthe first installment of theStar Warssequel trilogy,The Force Awakens, which was released in 2015. Portrayed by Ridley, Rey was shown to be a scavenger residing on the planet Jakku. She later gets involved in the Resistance’s conflict with the First Order and meets several interesting characters along the way.
Towards the end of the trilogy, it is revealed that Emperor Palpatine was in fact Rey’s grandfather. But, in 2019’sStar Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,Rey adopts the surname Skywalkerto honor her mentors Luke and General Leia.
