Square Enix is looking for more opinions about what gamers thought aboutFinal Fantasy 16. The survey was initially spotted by the Redditor Party_Judgment5780 and is currently available for Japanese gamers who have already finished the game. To participate in the survey, which will be open until August 6, it’s necessary to have a Square Enix ID linked to the Square Enix app. Also, the answers need to be written in Japanese and the website only allows people with a Japanese IP address to answer.
The survey comes on the heels of the game’s producerYoshi-P’s comments aboutFF16haters. Yoshi-P is currently disheartened at how much hate the game has received from a small yet vocal fanbase, who mostly feels betrayed because the gameplay and story are so different from what they are used inFinal Fantasygames. Because of that, they have been pretty toxic towards the development team. In the comments of the Reddit post, however, most gamers did not seem so concerned with these controversies. The most upvoted comments were all about having saveable load-outs to help during battles or a sprint button.
At the moment, it’s hard to say how much this survey may influence the future of the series, as there’s no official newFinal Fantasyin the works, at least publicly. However, it’s very likely that it may affect upcoming updates or even a DLC. While Square Enix initially denied that there were plans for more story content,Yoshi-P hinted at a possible DLCsome weeks ago, so fans should expect the possibility, as the sales ofFF16were pretty good, and there seem to be enough people wanting to delve deeper into Valisthea’s world and lore.
