The latestSplatoon 3Splatfest winner has been revealed. The results follow a weekend of battling it out inSplatoon 3to determine whether Nessie, Aliens, or Bigfoot is actually real.

The amusing Splatfest theme seemed to surprise some players, and was even mentioned as being a bit silly in-game by the idol hosts, Deep Cut. Even so,Inklings and Octolings fought for their chosen Cryptid, with the most recent weapons added and Splatfest adjustments inSplatoon 3’s most recent update tweaking the formula just a bit.

After taking a couple of hours to tally the results, theSplatoon 3Splatfest results have been announced. Initially, Team Aliens went into the weekend with a good advantage, taking home first place for how manyconch shellseach team earned in the Sneak Peek period between the announcement and start of the Splatfest. However, it wouldn’t be all smooth sailing for Team Aliens, as Team Nessie took first place as the leader heading into day 2 of the Splatfest, putting Team Aliens and Team Bigfoot on the attack.

In the end, Team Nessie and idol Shiver won theCryptid Splatfest. Players who participated in the Splatfest should make sure to collect their sea snail award, which can be used to make augmentations to player gear. Since Splatfests are no longer held monthly, the currency is especially difficult to come by. All players need to do to collect their rewards is to start up the game and watch the news. Their Splatfest shirt will be returned, and sea snails handed out based upon the player’s level of participation, with a bonus for those who are on the winning team this time around.

ThisSplatoon 3Splatfest was a bit special, as players who picked up the Side Order expansion DLC were able toreturn to Inkopolisduring the event. During the Splatfest, Callie and Marie of the Squid Sisters performed in the plaza to hype players up. It’s the first time players have had the opportunity to watch the Squid Sisters' Splatfest performance since the originalSplatoonon the Wii U. Since the console didn’t sell well, this was likely also the first time many players ever got to see it.

At the moment, no announcements have been made regarding when the next Splatfest or Big Run will be held. However, players have speculated that the timing may work out to have aZelda-themed Splatfest during its release month of May. For now, though, fans of the colorful shooter will have to wait and see.
