This essentially functions as a free battle pass that grants a variety of rewards, and emotes are among them. Indeed, the Catalog is the source for new emotes, and players that want to get their hands on some of them will need to earn Catalog Points and work through its tiers.
With respect to how to earn Catalog Points, they are awarded at the end of multiplayer matches. In fact, players will receive some of these points regardless of the outcome of their matches, though it is wise to get at least one win every day.
