Splatoon 3arrived at today’s surprise Nintendo Direct with a Deep Cut Splatcast announcing its first post-launch Splatfest, whose theme asks, “What would you bring to a deserted island?” If fans were eager, they already had an opportunity to experienceSplatoon 3’s Tricolor Turf Warswith its Splatfest World Premiere.

Like the world premiere that launched temporarily before the launch ofSplatoon 3, this new Splatfest includes an overarching theme. The world premiere’s own theme was “Rock, Paper, Scissors,” asking fans to answer the age-old question and assign themselves to either of the three teams, which also had their own Deep Cut mascot representing them. Players must now consider which of the new Splatfest teams they will choose to align with.

The theme ofSplatoon 3’s first post-launch Splatfestasks players to choose either Gear, Grub, or Fun. Additionally,Splatoon 3has revealed the dates and times players can expect it to be scheduled. The new Splatfest will officially begin on Friday, September 23, at 5PM PT, and conclude on Sunday, September 25, at 5PM PT. This gives players a weekend to enjoy its new festivities with uniquely associated Tricolor Turf Wars, and it will be exciting to see what players select as their team.

Splatfests are a wonderful opportunity for players to rally together in distinct teams to express their personalities. Each theme will be playfully fun, and no matter which team players choose it is still exciting to see who will eventually come out on top of the Splatfest as the weekend concludes. Fortunately, players do not need to wait more than a month forSplatoon 3’s first post-launch Splatfest, which will also decorate Splatsville in authentic ornamentation.

Other updates are also teased inSplatoon 3’s appearance at the Nintendo Directwith shots of character avatars with different cosmetics, perhaps on display to show fans a new assortment of clothing they will have access to. But this could be in reference to a future catalog, new shop items, or another unrelated award with regard to fashionable gear.

This new Splatfest arrives in a couple of weekends’ time, giving players new and old ample time to steel themselves for it. In preparation for what will surely be a hotly anticipated event, players can continue to engage in ordinary Turf War battles, ranked Anarchy battles, or Salmon Run gigs as they level up and experiment with all ofSplatoon 3’s new weapons.
