While three has usually been the magic number for movie franchises likeSpider-Man, it appears that Marvel is looking to break that rule. In fact, the biggest of bigwigs for Marvel, Kevin Feige recently made it clear that not only isSpider-Man 4in the company’s plans, but work has also already started on the next installment.
While Amy Pascal had previously said that Marvel had plans for another threeSpider-Manmovies with Tom Holland and Zendaya, she later had to backtrack and explain that she hopes the company can make that work. At the center of any talks about a second trilogy is the fact that the webhead is still technically the property of Sony. The two companies had worked out a deal to include Spidey in the MCU, but another deal would have to be struck to continue including the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

However, according toThe Wrap, Kevin Feige has now confirmed that Marvel is actively working to have a smoother situation with Sony than they did in 2019. He also confirmed that he and the rest of his team have officially started the early process of putting together aSpider-Man 4.
While things haven’t always been perfect betweenAmy Pascal and Kevin Feige, it appears the execs are on the same page this time around. Both have gone on the record saying that they want the continued partnership with Sony to go quite a bit better than it did a few years ago. Back in 2019, the two companies had a bit of a falling out and for a while, it appeared that Sony was going to yank the rights toSpider-Manback. In the end, the two sides patched things up, allowing Marvel to make two more films starring Tom Holland.
While Feige said that work onSpider-Man 4is still in the early stages, he and his team are actively working on where the story will go next. Pascal pointed out that the end ofSpider-Man: No Way Homeincluded a momentous decision by Peter Parker. She added that decision has given the team plenty to work with for the next film.
It makes quite a bit of sense that Marvel would be wanting to get anotherSpider-Manmovie into theaters consideringhow popularNo Way Homehas been. The question now is whether or not Tom Holland is indeed slated to return, or whether the story will follow another webhead in the multiverse.
