Ahead of its November release,Sonic Frontiershas shared a preview of its end credits theme. In manySonictitles, it’s almost a tradition for there to be a vocal theme for the game as a whole, and another different vocal theme for the end credits.Sonic Frontiersis officially no exception to this rule, as players can now hear what one of its vocal themes sounds like. The ending song is “Vandalize” by One Ok Rock, a Japanese rock band. Despite them being a J-Rock band, they’ve sung “Vandalize” entirely in English with a Japanese version being released alongside the game in Japan. The lyrics of the song fit the story of the title rather well, describing someone’s “head being in ruins” and needing to be “rebuilt.” The plot ofSonic Frontiersalso shares these themes as the plot found in it has been described as “things take a turn for the dramatic immediately, and Sonic is left alone with a lot of questions” bywriter Ian Flynn.RELATED:Sonic Team Says Speed Alone Isn’t What Makes Sonic Games FunPlayers can listen to the preview through a video shared on the officialSonic the Hedgehogsocial media pages. The preview features clips of the game edited to match the music, which helps emphasize the story elements that the song relates to, such asSonic’s friends like Amy Rosebeing locked away, and the strange state that Sonic’s body is in.

If fans enjoy how the song sounds in the special preview video, then they’re in luck as despite how the officialSonicchannels have shared a preview, the full song has been uploaded officially by One Ok Rock themselves on YouTube. “Vandalize” is also available in its own single on streaming services such as Spotify. Interestingly, however, One Ok Rock’s own version is explicit, so listeners should choose which version they want to hear carefully.

Update 17-06-2025 by Zackari Greif- Interestingly, Sega has decided to show off the ending theme first after a recent commercial airing in Japan has already featured parts of the main vocal theme. However, two days later a preview of themain vocal theme forSonic Frontierswas released, revealing the singer as Merry Kirk-Holmes from the Australian metal band To Octavia.

Sonic Frontiersso far has been a complete mystery in terms of its soundtrack as not many of its songs aren’t known to fans just yet. Gameplay previews seem to imply that the Starfall Islands will have quieter themes full of ambiance, while Cyber Space stages will have more dramatic themes attached to them. It seems fans might need to wait for more concise gameplay footage to know more, as Sega has said apublic demo forFrontiersis not currently in the works.

Sonic Frontierswill launch on November 8 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
