Originally released in 2011,The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimwas re-released several times on multiple video game consoles. The final version was theSkyrim: Anniversary Edition, which came out in 2021. Before this, however, Bethesda released a version that brought the game to VR.
Released in 2018,Skyrim VRbrought a new level of immersion to theElder Scrollsgame. Some joys in the new mode come in the form of being able toslap a sign inSkyrimwhile others were more involved. Modders have since gone to work on the mode and have added a number of new features. One mod, in particular, helps players take down one rather annoying thief.

In a recent post, Reddit user Kooky-Ad-2960 posted a video where they encountered a character known as Arvel the Swift. Arvel is stuck in spider webs in the game and the player needs to free them in order to continue the quest. Spiders are an incredibly common enemy in video games, but theSkyrimspiders have often been listedas some of the most terrifying. After the NPC is freed he attempts to flee with a treasure on him, and Kooky-Ad-2960 kills him instantly by shooting him in the back. The caption for the video declares that Arvel the Swift wasn’t swift enough.
Arvel the Swift only appears in one quest inThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimcalled The Golden Claw. While the quest isn’t one of the better side-quests, one fan liked the quest enough to make areal-life version of theSkyrimGolden Claw. The quest starts in the Riverwood Trader where an NPC mentioned that The Golden Claw was stolen by bandits along with a number of other goods. The player then can track the bandits to their camp at Bleak Falls Barrow. After killing or sneaking past the bandits, the player will encounter Arvel the Swift in a rather unexpected position.
When the player meets Arvel the Swift, he is caught in the aforementioned spiderweb. After being cut loose, he attempts to flee with The Golden Claw on him, forcing the Dragonborn to persue. If the player fails to kill him, he may be killed by a draugr. If Arvel somehow survives this he will instead be killed by a spike trap similar to the way one playerkilled a Draugr Scourge inSkyrimwith its own trap. The player must retrieve The Golden Claw from his dead body before returning it to the shopkeeper.
Players finding creative and quick ways to kill NPCs is not all that uncommon. In one instance, a player managed to use asweet roll to kill an NPC in aSkyrimquest, while others have found ways to use wheelbarrows to kill NPCs and have dropped weapons on them in fatal ways.
