AfterValorant’s beta made its debut, the Riot Games shooter quickly became a favorite of streamers and players alike. Now, after its rapid rise,Riot is preparing to release the gamein a few weeks. While this news should excite fans who were unable to get an access code to the beta, some feel that the game is not ready for release.
Recently, the Mixer streamer Shroud told his followersthat he believedValorant’s release date was too early. When Riot Games first made its announcement, he wrote a tweet complaining thatValorantwas launching prematurely. During his stream that day, Shroud built on his initial statement further.

One clip captured the Mixer streamer saying thatValorantwas “not ready” for release. He expressed his frustration with the game’s developers, saying that he had “no idea what… they think they’re doing.” The streamer also accused Riot Games of “pushing” theValorantteam to release the game. As he continued his stream, Shroud theorized that the developers knew the game wasn’t ready. When asked why he thought so, he said that the shooter was “missing so much.”
While he acknowledged that thedevelopers could have improvements readyfor day one, Shroud warned that if the team did not, the launch would feel threadbare. The streamer did concede that if the game launched with no changes, it would not be the worst launch. Unlike some games, the game runs well and there are not many bugs. However, he does feel thatValorantis almost ready, and just needs more time in development.
In response, several fans in Shroud’s chat and Twitter replies agreed with his sentiments. On Twitter, some responses pointed out problems like bugged hitboxes and lag. Another response noted that the game was only releasing with four maps. Some fans on Mixer expressed concern that any Day One updates would break the game. However, other responses did defend Riot’s decision. For example, one Twitter response argued thatValorantwas in a “pretty good state” for a free-to-play game. Another defender on Twitter also reminded fans thatValorant’s team had fixes for most existing issues readyfor post-launch.
Although Shroud has some valid concerns regardingValorant’s incoming debut, there is a good chance that the shooter will enjoy a strong release. Countless stream viewers have been eagerly waiting for their chance to join the multiplayer battle. Hopefully,Riot’s latest titleis able to live up to their expectations.
