TheShikimori’s Not Just a Cutie"1000% Prom Night" will be hosted at the Kawaguchi Comprehensive Cultural Center Lilia, with the anime’s cast, as well as the opening theme song performers as guest attendees.The announcement comes with a key visual featuring Shikimori and company dressed to the nines, showing that the upcoming event will be an auspicious one. The guest list includes the entire main cast, with Saori Onishi who plays Shikimori; Izumi voice actor Shuichiro Umeda; Misato Matsuoka who was cast as Nekozaki; Rina Hidaka as the stoic Hachimitsu;My Hero Academiastar Nobuhiko Okamoto, who played Inuzuka and finally, Ayaka Fukuhara, who was Shikimori’s rival-turned friend Kamiya. Alongside the main cast, theme song artists Yuki Nakashima and Nasuo were also invited to the prom event.Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutieis the anime adaptation of author Keigo Maki’s comedy romance manga by the same name, which has for 14 volumes in Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket magazine from 2019 until present, while the anime ran from April to July 2022.
The series was highly anticipated leading up to its Spring 2022 release, with the titular character being hailed as a forerunner of the unofficial title of “waifu of the season”. The animeloosely adapts material from the mangawith reinterpreted timelines and character roles, and it was produced by studio Doga Kobo.
The series follows Izumi, a high schooler who is prone to bouts of inexplicable misfortune, and his relationship with the most popular girl in school, Shikimori. Izumi thinks his girlfriend is very cute, but whenever he gets into trouble, Shikimori becomes an incredibly cool heartthrob who makes his heart skip a beat. The series' biggest draw is its do-it-all heroine, someone who is so cool that everyone can’t help but fall in love with her.
