InSea of Thieves, players take to the waves in their ships and galleons, intent on plunder and general piracy. With thearrival of Season 2, lots of new players are jumping into the game for some fun and frolics, and many of them appear to have the same question. Lots of players are wondering if it is possible to play the game in third-person.

Sea of Thievesis a first-person-only game, with no way to play it in the third-person. As the game is always played online, it is not even possible to use any type of mod to achieve a third-person perspective. This is bad news for people who are being impacted by one of the more unusual side effects from playingSea of Thieves.

Like many other first-person games,Sea of Thievescan make players feel a degree of motion sickness while playing. How bad this can be will vary from player to player. As for a solution, regular breaks and not playing the game directly after a meal seem to be two commonly accepted solutions among players.

For those who are not suffering from motion sickness while playing the game,Sea of Thieves' new season offers a host of new things to do, on top of all the older content in the game. There is abrand new Barrel Disguise emotethat players can earn that will facilitate some hilarious ambushes or escapes.

Trading Routeshave also been introduced, allowing players to transport commodities between Outposts, earning plenty of loot for their efforts. Players will be able to buy and sell commodities, ferry them between different Outposts, and pocket the difference between their buy and sell prices. The longer the journey, the greater the reward, but the higher the chances of running into danger.

As always, players will also need to be on guard for threats that arrive from the sea itself, as no matter what they are doing, they will be at risk from the giantMegalodons that hunt beneath the waves. These enormous creatures will be more than happy to chow down on some unfortunate pirates if they manage to get their giant maws around a player’s ship.

So whileSea of Thievesdoesn’t have a third-person camera option for people who might need it, it certainly is laden down with content for people who don’t. Meanwhile, players who feel themselves becoming a little bit nauseous while playing should remember to step away from the game for a short break.

Sea of Thievesis available now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
