AtEVO 2019, aSamurai Shodowntrailer confirmed that five new DLC characters would release before the year came to a close. Additionally, it was revealed that another season ofSamurai ShodownDLC fighters was in the works and would be available over the course of the 2020. It was then indicated that this secondSamurai Shodownseason would kick off with the release of Mina Majikina, and a brand new trailer is giving fans a look at this fighter in preface of her launch.

Mina Majikina is a character that first debuted in 2003’sSamurai Shodown 5, and the newSamurai Shodowntrailer will give players a good sense of what she is all about. Armed with a bow that has the power to fire ki-infused arrows, Mina is setup to deal damage from a distance. While she can do battle up close, turning her bow into a melee weapon, Mina primarily looks to use range to her advantage, and players will need to master this approach if they hope to find success with the character.

Additionally, the trailer shows off Mina’s animal companion, Chample – a creature she recovered from the wreckage of her destroyed village. While Chample primarily plays the role of a mascot, seldom joining in on a fight, some players will still be happy to see the cute critter rendered for the latest installment in this popularfighting gamefranchise.

Mina Majikina will be available toSamurai Shodownplayers beginning Wednesday, February 26, and she can be purchased for $6. That said, players that are interested in gaining access to even more DLC characters may prefer to simply buy theSamurai ShodownSeason Pass 2, which is available for $20 and contains Mina and three other fighters. Sogetsu Kazama and Iroha are two of these three additional characters, and the fourth is unknown at this time.

Furthermore, the release dates for the Season 2 fighters beyond Mina are not currently confirmed, though it is possible that they will be available prior toSamurai Shodown’s appearance atEVO 2020. While there is no guarantee that these characters would make a splash at that particular tournament, they could potentially shift the established metagame and create some truly spectacular moments at the event.

Samurai Shodownis available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Stadia. It will release for Switch on June 02, 2025.
