RWBYhas come a long way from its simple beginnings as a YouTubeseries by profound animator and creator Monty Oum. The series now consists of eight seasons and has been given a fantastic story with breathtaking animation. Ruby, Yang, Blake, and Wise have grown, struggled, triumphed, and lost, developing into deep characters with flaws and virtues coming a long way from their initial debut.

RWBYhas introduced a slew ofincredible new anime charactersover the years, each more exciting than the last. However, in the perilous world of Remnant, strength reigns supreme. There is no lack of powerful individuals in the world ofRWBY, but the strongest characters inRWBYrise to the top and make much more of a splash than their peers.
8Neopolitan
Neo has been a part of theRWBYworld since its beginning, and, along the way, has undergone a series of changes. She debuted facing off against Ruby in the middle of Vale city alongside Roman Torchwick. Neo is an incredibly talented fighter with an equally powerful semblance. She is a more than capable hand-to-hand combatant and utilizes a unique fighting style that compliments her weapon, Hush, which is modeled after an umbrella.
Neopolitan’ssemblanceis called Overactive imagination. This ability allows her to create physical manifestations of anything she can comprehend. This power becomes increasingly useful with the more skilled she becomes at using it throughout the series. Neo has bested some of the strongest fighters Beacon Academy has to offer and has yet to be stopped.
7Adam Taurus
Adam was once the partner of Blake Belladonna. He is a skilled swordsman andmartial artistthat outmatches most in theRWBYworld on his day. He worked with Blake until she abandoned him, leaving him resentful. As the leader of the White Fang, he and Blake were on opposite sides throughout the series, and Adam spared no expense to make her pay for what she did to him.

In battle, Adam is as swift and vicious as a tiger. His weapon of choice is Wilt and Blush, a sword modeled after a Katana that can be sheathed and transformed into a rifle. Adam’s semblance is Moonslice, which allows him to store energy from any source and redirect it wherever he desires. Adam has taken on many powerful fighters, even slaying the former leader of the White Fang to take her place.
6Hazel Rainart
Hazel Rainart is a hulking antagonist ofRWBY. Hazel specializes in hand-to-hand combat and grappling, receiving high praise from Ozpin himself. Hazel was once a strong ally to Beacon Academy but was slighted by the death of his sister, who enrolled in Beacon but perished on a training mission.
In a fight, Hazel is an unstoppable mass of strength and anger. Hazel’s Semblance is Numbing Agent, which allows him to ignore pain. Using his semblance, Hazel injects Dust crystals into himself and further enhances his colossal strength, thus making him a significant threat on the battlefield. Hazel has gone toe-to-toe with Qrow, Salem, and Ozpin and demonstrated a strong tactical mentality, making him more than just a brute.
5Cinder Fall
Cinder served as the main antagonist for the first three seasons ofRWBYand her presence in the series made a memorable impact with every appearance. As a strategic Villain, Cinder does not reserve herself to pulling strings behind the scenes. She is very hands-on and is an extremely powerful fighter, being highly trained and possessing the power of the Fall Maiden that she stole from Amber.
Cinder is a jack of all trades, being able to hold her own in hand-to-hand combat, swordplay, and pure semblance combat. She can hold her own against Beacon Academy’s best hunters and even an aging Ozpin. Cinder’s main combat style utilizes her semblance, Scorching Caress, which allows her to super-heat anything she touches and causes explosions. She pairs this ability with her Fall Maiden powers and glass weaponry to inflict grievous wounds on her opponents.
4Qrow Branwen
Qrow is one of the strongest characters inRWBY, which seems to be a family tradition, as his sister Raven and Nieces Yang and Ruby are also powerful hunters. Qrow was trained at Beacon Academy with his sister and became a member of one of the most prominent hunter teams called “STRO.”
Calling Qrow a talented fighter is an understatement as his skill in combat is only matched by his sister Raven. Qrow uses a unique weapon called Harbinger that has three transformations: Sword, Pistol, and Scythe. The semblance that Qrow uses is perhaps his most exceptional talent. Misfortune causes bad luck to afflict his opponents and shift his fights in his favor. However, Qrow can not turn off his semblance, making him one of a kind.
3Raven Branwen
Raven is a mighty warrior inRWBY. She trained alongside her brother at Beacon Academy but wound up leading the Branwen Tribe, where she became an even fiercer warrior. Unfortunately, in her dedication to her people, Raven forsook her duty as a mother and left Yang with her father.

Raven’s skill with a sword is exquisite. She uses a one-sided blade called Omen, a sword that has interchangeable blades infused with different Dust colors, which allow her attacks to have multiple effects. While Raven’s semblance is incredibly powerful, she doesn’t utilize it in battle often. Her power, Kindred Link, allows her to create portals across massive distances to people she shares a connection with.
2Ozpin
Ozpin is more than just the headmaster of Beacon Academy. He is a mysterious and wise man who carries a wonderful secret. Ozpin is the descendent of the ancient warrior of Remnant’s history, Ozma, which grants him the ability to reincarnate.

While combat is not Ozpin’s focused skill set, he is more than capable of holding his own. Ozpin has more than enough power to handle Cinder Fall with the Fall Maiden powers and not over-exert himself. As a reincarnated being, Ozpin can never truly die. He will instead only find another host for his power. Ozpin also utilizes magic and a unique weapon called the long memory, which is modeled after a walling cane.
1Salem
Salem is the main antagonist ofRWBY. In the series, she seeks the destruction of Remnant and is the main rival to Ozma in his many reincarnations. Salem doesn’t care about life and wishes to see it all burn. She is an ancient being of enormous power unrivaled by any and all who oppose her.
Salem is immortal, and along with her innate magic ability, she is alsothe source of Grimm. Salem has several abilities, such as making monsters in the blink of an eye, creating dark tendrils to capture prey, and unleashing powerful spells that vaporize everything in their way. Salem can only be matched by a matured and trained Ozma, but with his recent reincarnation, she is nearly unstoppable.
