By now, theEpic GamesStore has solidified its place in the current gaming climate, and the PC platform wars seem to have settled down to a point. Still, free game giveaways and massive sales that are bolstered further with $10 coupons are ongoing on the site, and many people feel certain that Epic will continue this practice through 2022 as well.
TheEpic Gamescommunity seems to believe that there are huge sales coming up as well, and one user has created a big, unofficial schedule that could give others a sense of when Epic’s next big push could take place. Of course, it’s immediately worth pointing out that this is an unofficial and uncorroborated schedule, but there are reasons to believe it could be getting some things right.

Reddit user neoazenec has come up with an unofficial Epic Games Store sale schedule that uses 2021’s sale dates as well as information from previous sales held in 2022. As a result, neoazenec believes that the Epic Games Store Mega Sale could be coming back once more this year and that it might kick off on May 19. SinceEpic had an incredible April 2022, it’s not too big of a stretch to imagine that it’s looking to galvanize its community with another series of huge discounts.
The last time there was a major sale in place, users could get the then-newDeathloopat 50% off via Epic Games Store, and since Epic often includes $10 coupons to go alongside its discounts, it’s easy to count on massive savings on some of the latest and greatest games on the market. Naturally, neoazenec’s schedule could be getting some things wrong, but it’s a reasonably well-informed guess all the same.
While the existence of a proper Mega Sale for 2022 is still up in the air,Epic Games Store’s free games for Mayare already partially confirmed, with users having the opportunity to snag some smaller, albeit very interesting, AA titles at no cost. It seems like Epic won’t stop giving away free games anytime soon either, which means early adopters should already have a very impressive game library available via the Steam competitor.
For game developers themselves, though, thelatest news about Unreal Engine 5is way more interesting. A huge number of games in development have already been confirmed to run on Unreal 5, such asThe Witcher 4, and Epic has shown off some truly impressive tech using playable demos. Performance, however, is a huge question mark at this time, asTheMatrixAwakensshows a potentially worrying PC hardware scalability problem.
