According to an ex-Rockstar developer, the studio has multiple games in development right now. The news that theGrand Theft AutoandRed Dead Redemptiondeveloper is working on at least two new games comes from former Rockstar India employee Angith Jayarajan.
Last year, Rockstar releasedRed Dead Redemption 2to much critical acclaim and have continued to support both its online projects,Grand Theft Auto OnlineandRed Dead Online. Rockstar has a lot on its plate, even without games in development, but rumors over the past year have suggested that two specific games are in development and this news further backs up those theories.

In an Instragram post for the communal living startup StayAbode, Jayarajan gave vague details regarding his time at Rockstar. “I worked onRed Dead Redemption 2and a couple of games I can’t name yet,” he said in the post, but didn’t give any further details on what those titles were.
The obvious assumption is that one of those games has to beGrand Theft Auto 6, a game that wasrecently rumored to have a female protagonist. The rumor also suggested that the game is returning to Vice City and will include heists as well as updated versions of mechanics that were featured inGTA: Vice City. It has been seven years sinceGTA 5originally launched for PS3 and Xbox 360 and while Rockstar has worked to continually supportGTA Onlineall these years it would be baffling if it wasn’t working on a newGrand Theft Autoin some form.
The other heavily rumored release from Rockstar isBully 2.A newGTAis almost certainly in development, but Rockstar has been cagey as to what is going on with aBullysequel, a game that has been rumored since the original’s release. Recently it seems aBully 2was in development earlier this decadebut it may or may not have been cancelled. Perhaps Rockstar returned to the concept with new, more modern approaches to an open world game starring teenagers.
It could also be something else completely unexpected. Rockstar has plenty of untapped licenses they could reboot in new and unexpected ways. Most exciting is the idea of a new IP. Rockstar has not made an original open world game since the originalRed Dead, and even that was based on an old Capcom license. A Rockstar game that takes on a new tone and setting has a ton of potential and could drive downloads for itsnew PC games launcher.
