The early 2000s established Rockstar Games as one of the top video game developers in the world, largely thanks to the runaway success of theGrand Theft Autotrilogy of gameson the PS2. There’s a great deal of hype for the upcomingGrand Theft Auto 6thanks to the high bar set by the previousGrand Theft Autogames, but unfortunately, the game remains unannounced at the time of this writing.
Rockstar Games itself has not officially announcedGrand Theft Auto 6, and so nothing is really known about the game in an official capacity. But while official details onGrand Theft Auto 6and what it may entail remain scarce, fans have continued to speculate about what the game will be like. But it’s not just fans speculating. Rockstar Games co-founder Jamie King, who left the company in 2006, has speculated that the next game in the series may lose some of its edge.

In an interview with YouTuber Killazspain, King speculated that the “tone” ofGrand Theft Auto 6could be different when compared to previous games in the series. He added that this could mean thatGrand Theft Auto 6is “not quite as edgy or quite as funny.”
As it stands, there is nothing that fans know aboutGrand Theft Auto 6officially, but some reputable leakers have revealed some details that could very well turn out to be true. If the leaks are to be believed,Grand Theft Auto 6will be set in Vice City, and it will feature a female playable protagonist. Apparently,GTA 6could include two protagonists(one male, one female) that players switch between, similarly to howGrand Theft Auto 5had three protagonists.
Details about theGrand Theft Auto 6online multiplayer component has been teased as well, with leakers suggesting that the game will have anevolving map likeFortnite. Whether or not there’s any truth to these claims remains to be seen, and with noGrand Theft Auto 6announcement in sight, it’s likely that fans will still have to wait years to find out one way or another.
