Reddit user InquisitorAles recently uploaded screenshots of a newResident Evil 3mod in action. The mod, developed by xRaq on NexusMods, is titled “Leather Jacket for Jill” and it does just that, letting Jill wear Lara Croft’s leather jacket fromRise of the Tomb Raider. It comes in two variants, one with the hood down, and one with the hood on, replacing the Default and S.T.A.R.S Gear outfits respectively. It may not be as ambitious a mod as the one thatreplaces Jill withResident Evil Village’s Lady Dimitrescu, but xRaq provides a fine-tuned and well-designed mod for fans wanting to give Jill some new threads.
Fans in the Reddit comments are raving over the mod, seeing multiple characters within this appearance of Jill. From Kat inDmC: Devil May Cryto Alex Mercer fromPrototype, the simple addition of a hoodie to Jill evokes many other game characters. Other comparisons made include none other than Eminem, the proverbial hoodie wearer, and even Marvel’sJessica Jones. If the jacket was red, then players might as well have downloaded theResident Evil 3Claire Redfield mod.
It is encouraging to see fans continue to support theResident Evil 3remake through their mods. They deserve credit for providing new ways to experience the game, and in some ways, even improve it over its original form. Players may not necessarily want to aResident Evil 3mod that replaces Carlos with Nemesis, but it is an option thanks to these creative individuals. Now, who is going to add in the missing Clocktower section first: modders or Capcom itself?
Resident Evil 3is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
