In October 2018, Microsoft announcedProject xCloud, a streaming service that will allow fans to play thebest Xbox gameson their mobile devices. Earlier this year, the Project xCloud preview program began, and select players have now had the chance to experience exactly how well a variety of titles perform when using the service. These titles have thus far included the likes ofDevil May Cry 5andSoulcalibur 6, and Microsoft has recently added even more games to the Project xCloud preview.
Specifically, the following four titles are now compatible with theProject xCloud preview program:Children of Morta,Dead by Daylight,Fishing Sim World: Pro Tour, andWreckfest. As it stands, theProject xCloudpreview catalog already features more than 50 titles, and it is clear that Microsoft has every intention in continuing to expand these offerings. While these most recent additions may not have the widespread appeal of some of the AAA games that are available through the service, they demonstrate the Xbox developer’s interest in allowing fans to test a wide variety of titles during the preview, and that is something that many players will certainly be interested in doing.
With respect to how fans can get an opportunity to test Project xCloud for themselves, registration for the preview is open via the Xbox website. To note, players must have an Android 6.0 or greater device, a compatibleXbox wireless controller, and a 5GHz connection to be considered for the program, and registration does not guarantee participation, with Microsoft indicating that “invites may not be sent until several months after registration.”
While Microsoft fans wait for these Project xCloud invitations, an array of forthcoming Xbox One exclusives may just be enough to keep them occupied. These exclusives include games such asBleeding EdgeandOri and the Will of the Wisps, and the forthcoming release of the next Xbox console means that there is even more for players to look forward to. Indeed, it is certainly an exciting time to be an Xbox fan, and new games for Project xCloud are just one small piece of that puzzle.
TheProject xCloudpreview program is now open for registration.
