Pokemon SwordandShield’sCrown Tundraexpansion is available now, giving fans of the latestPokemongames a brand new adventure to experience and a slew of new Pokemon to add to their collection. As is typical ofPokemongames, there are some Pokemon in theCrown Tundraexpansion that are exclusive to one version over the other, withSwordandShieldgetting exclusive access to five Pokemon each.
Pokemon Swordplayers have exclusive access to Gen 1 fossil Pokemon Omanyte and Omastar, as well as Bagon, Shelgon, and Salamance.Pokemon Shieldplayers, meanwhile, can catch Kabuto, Kabutops, Gible, Gabite, and Garchomp. AnyPokemon SwordandShieldplayers that want to fullycomplete their Pokedexwill need to trade Pokemon with somebody that has the opposite version of the game that they do.

Overall, there aren’t too many version exclusive Pokemon inSwordandShield’s Crown Tundra DLC, so it shouldn’t be too difficult for players to add the necessary Pokemon to their collection and complete their Pokedex. Back in August, aPokemon SwordandShieldCrown Tundraexclusives list leakedand showed significantly more version-exclusives, but it appears that the leak was incorrect or those plans were scrapped.

One of the main draws ofPokemon SwordandShield’sCrown TundraDLCis the ability to catch all of the legendary Pokemon from previous games in the series. Some of the legendary Pokemon may be exclusive to certain version’s Max Raid Battles, but otherwise players should be able to catch all of the legendary Pokemon for their collection, regardless of version. It will still be a tough task for sure, but at least this way players don’t have to rely on trading to get all of thePokemon SwordandShieldlegendary Pokemon.
For the most part, the legendary Pokemon inPokemon SwordandShield’sCrown TundraDLC will be as players remember them from previous games in the series. However, the legendary birds from Gen 1 (Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres) have Galarian forms that make them look quite a bit different than their Kanto counterparts. That being said, theGalarian legendary bird shiny formsdo give them the same colors as the original ones.
In the meantime, theCrown TundraDLC may very well be the last major content update that Nintendo andGame Freakhave in store forPokemon SwordandShield, so fans shouldn’t necessarily expect any new Pokemon to come to the games.
