Game Freak and The Pokemon Company finally give fans another look atPokemon Scarlet and Violetin their latest fourteen-minute trailer focusing on four players' journey throughout the Paldea region. As many no doubt know, it seems the approach to this generation has been complete and utter silence. Only a handful of Pokemon have previously been revealed, and the games release next month. It’s likely to be a busy October forPokemon Scarlet and Violetthen, as this trailer only shows one new Pokemon.

In terms ofgameplay forPokemon Scarlet and Violet, this is by far the deepest look yet. It didn’t have too much in terms of new Pokemon, revealing only one new evolution, but it did give a nice look at things players can do and learn. For example, it seems that Terrastalization is unlocked early because one player’s level 15 Quaxly was able of doing so. It also shows how Tera Pokemon sparkle in the overworld, and how doing enough damage will cause them to lose their Tera type.

Among the Titan Pokemon, TM Crafting, Gym Tests, customizations, pictures, picnics, and Tera Raids that were shown in this trailer is the new evolution of Girafarig, named Farigiraf. One player traded it to another, but luckily, it seems that’s just a coincidence. Notrading inPokemon Scarlet and Violetis required to unlock this evolution, as the second player used it in a battle before its evolution. In it, it looks even more like a Giraffe, but its head is consumed by the thing that used to be its tail.

It’s not much, but it’ll have to do. Fans who keep up with leaks know that there are otherregional evolutions inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, but it’s impossible to know if they’ll be shown before release.

Indeed, with less than 50 days and barely more than a month to go, Game Freak and The Pokemon Company hopefully hit the marketing harder. For fans who have only been keeping up with official information, this news is definitely welcome, but it is sparse. At the same time, much of this had already been hinted at inPokemon Scarlet and Violetleaks. Depending on the type of fan, the engagement with this generation has been a little off so far, but obviously, the hype is still there. Even without a single trailer,Pokemon S/Vwill sell like hotcakes, and it seems The Pokemon Company may be banking on that either way.
