APokemon Scarlet and Violetfan has an interesting color theory related to the titles of the DLC expansions announced during Monday’s Pokemon Presents broadcast. The newest livestream from The Pokemon Company brought with it plenty of updates about the many ongoing titles in the long-running monster-catching franchise. Games likePokemon UniteandPokemon Cafe Remixsaw smaller updates with new characters added, whilePokemon Sleepreceived its first major reveal. However, highlighting thePokemon-focused broadcast was the official announcement ofScarlet and VioletDLC.Nintendo officially revealedPokemon Scarlet and Violet’s upcoming DLC during the 25-minute broadcast. “The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero” will whisk players away from Paldea to uncover the mysteries behind two new Legendary Pokemon across two parts. The Teal Mask is set to feature the Legendary Pokemon Ogerpon and the new area of Kitikami, while The Indigo Disk will star the new Legendary Terapagos and a new school called Blueberry Academy. The user pointed out that teal, used in the title of the DLC’s first part, is exactly halfway between scarlet and violet on the visible light spectrum. The second half of the DLC’s main color, indigo, is a color that doesn’t actually exist on the visible light spectrum, being a darker shade of blue. The user also suggests indigo may have been used asa substitute for magenta, another color located halfway between red and blue.

While The Pokemon Company shared little details about the story of thePokemon Scarlet and VioletDLC, the broadcast did feature hints at the DLC’s contents. The Teal Mask and the Indigo Disk were confirmed to be two parts of an interconnected story with the events of The Teal Mask presumably leading into The Indigo Disk. The trailer also teased several newcharacters appearing in thePokemonDLC, though none were officially named. The Teal Mask is set to launch in Fall 2023 while the Indigo Disk will release a few months later in Winter 2023.

Pokemonfans have plenty to look forward to throughout 2023 with plenty of new games and updates coming. Alongside newScarlet and VioletDLC, a newcommemorativePokemon Trading Card Gamesetwill bring back some of the game’s most iconic classic cards.Pokemonhas also been seen several rumors in recent months, suggesting the original games may come to Nintendo Switch Online as well as hinting at a new Johto game.Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s DLC are set to continue the massive success from the franchise’s newest generation.
