In fact, sales for the Switch exclusive have gotten off to an incredibly hot start, withNintendo posting thatArceushas seen over 6.5 million playersenter the ancient lands of Hisui. The high sales likely bodes well for the myriad of changes to the traditional Pokemon formula, potentially indicating further refinements with the next few games in the series.

Part of that success is likely due to the variouschangesPokemon Legends: Arceusmakes to the core gameplayloops from past games. While players are encouraged to complete the Pokedex considering they’re creating the very first one according to the game’s lore, gameplay also includes much more open areas where they can come across wild Pokemon that can be caught without battling. While not positioned as a true live-service title, it’s clear that Nintendo aims to hold on to the game’s early success by periodically releasing new content and events.

While not yet confirmed from Nintendo directly, the massive Pokemon website Serebii has found details of an upcoming event forPokemon Legends: Arceus.
