Starting May 24, Pokemon Home can be linked toPokemon Scarlet and Violet. Anyone does that so will be able to get their hands on special versions of thePokemon Scarlet and Violetstarters, all of which with HIdden Abilities. These bonus Pokemon will be distributed as Mystery Gifts through Pokemon Home’s mobile app, soPokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers hoping to add them to their collection should keep that in mind.
Like otherPokemongames,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetstarter Pokemon do not appear in the wild. This means that the only way forPokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers to get their hands on the other starters so far has been through trades, but this Pokemon Home update will now make it a lot easier for fans to catch ‘em all. Of course, there are still hundreds of Pokemon that make up thePokemon Scarlet and VioletPokedex, so even the most dedicated trainers are going to have an uphill battle ahead of them.
Even though there are hundreds of Pokemon available inPokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Paldea region, the games still leave out hundreds of others. Ever sincePokemon Sword and Shield, the main seriesPokemongames have made it so fans can’t literally catch them all. This has proven to be a controversial decision, but it’s one that the developers don’t seem to be reversing any time soon.
It’s entirely possible that the Generation 10Pokemongames will backpedal on these controversial changes, but that seems unlikely. The next main seriesPokemongames likely won’t be announced for years anyway, so fans won’t have their answers for quite a while. In the meantime,Pokemonfans look forward to thePokemon HomeScarlet and Violetupdateon May 24.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violetare out now, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
