Pokemon GOhas just revealed that the Electric-type EleFish Pokemon Tynamo will be the focus of July 2024’s Community Day. Developer Niantic often holds special events inPokemon GO, which either add new creatures to the game or allow fans a greater chance to catch certain existing Pokemon. One particularly noteworthy example of this is the monthlyPokemon GOCommunity Day events, which have been held since January 2018. Last month’s Community Day event was focused on Generation 6’s Goodra, and offered players a special attack if they evolved their Sliggo during the event.
The July 2024Pokemon GOCommunity Day is now less than a month away, and the developers of the hit mobile game recently announced that the star monster will benone other than TynamofromPokemon Black and White.This fish-like Electric Pokemon was first brought intoPokemon GOin March 2021, alongside its evolved forms Eelektrik (which it becomes after being fed 25 candies) and Eelektross (which is achieved after the player feeds it fed 100 candies).
The upcomingPokemon GOJuly 2024 Community Day will be held on Sunday, July 21 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. Players who log intoPokemon GOduring this time will have a greater chance of encountering a wild Tynamo, with a lucky few even chancing across arare Shiny Pokemon variant. Additionally, players who evolve their Eelektrik into an Eelektross during the July 2024 Community Day will get access to the Fast Attack Volt Switch, which has 12 power during Trainer Battles and 14 power in Gyms and Raids.

There will also be plenty of special events and unlockable bonuses to be discovered during thePokemon GOJuly 2024 Community Day event. A Tynamo Community Day-exclusive Special Research story will be available for purchase, though Niantic has yet to reveal when tickets will go live. There will bePokemon GOTimed Researchthat awards players four Unova Stones between 2:00 PM and 10:00 PM local time, as well as Field Research that gives players rewards for catching Tynamo like Stardust, Great Balls, and additional encounters with Tynamo. PokeStop Showcases will also be held at different points in the day, and players will be able to get special Tynamo-themed Stickers.
Of course, there will be plenty ofbonusPokemon GORaid Battlesand other perks during and after the Tynamo-centric July 2024 Community Day, which will naturally be centered around the EleFish Pokemon and its evolutions. The fishy festivities will start on July 21 and run for most of the late afternoon, soPokemon GOfans should mark their calendars for the day they’ll get a chance to add a Shiny Tynamo to their Pokemon collections.
Tynamo will appear more frequently in the wild.*

Four-Star Raid Battle Bonus
Once you successfully complete a four-star Raid Battle against Eelektrik, additional Tynamo will appear around the Gym that hosted the raid for 30 minutes.*
*Tynamo that appear under these circumstances will have the same chance of appearing as a Shiny Pokémon as those that appear during July Community Day’s three-hour event period.
Timed Research
Timed Research awarding four Unova Stones will be available between 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. local time.
Field Research
July Community Day–themed Field Research will be available! Catch Tynamo to earn rewards such as Stardust, Great Balls, additional encounters with Tynamo, and more!
