The developers have some more improvements and exciting events arriving in the near future according to the latest datamine.
In addition to some usual fixes and smaller updates, the latestPokemon GOdatamine reveals to very exciting changes for players who prefer the PvE Battle Raid side ofthePoGOmetagame. Although no dates were shared, it sounds like Battle Raids are getting a very valuable event and a quality of life improvement that will save players from wasting Raid Passes when a group falls through.

First off, keep in mind that all datamined code is subject to change, or never go live at all, and neither of these announcements have been confirmed by Niantic yet. That said,PoGOdatamines are usually fairly reliable, so both of these items are likely on their way in the near future.
Part of the code added some text for five free Remote Raid Passes. This should mean that Niantic is planning a Pokemon GO Remote Raid Pass day with increased Legendary hatches and up to 5 free Remote Raid Passes per player. The event will likely mirror the usual Raid Day events, but with a focus on the Remote aspect instead.

In addition to the Remote Raid Pass Day code, the datamine also includes some code to change when a Raid Pass is consumed. Moving the consumption from when a player enters the lobby to when the battle starts would be a massive quality of life improvement and make it a lot less risky to pop into a Lobby and see if there are any other players waiting to battle the boss. This is a very exciting possibility and will really be a big improvement to Battle Raiding.
