Pokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers think that sketches in the games potentially hint at the next titles in thePokemonfranchise.Pokemon Scarlet and Violethave only been out for a few months at this point, butPokemonfans are always looking to the future. WithPokemonbeing one of the most successful video game franchises of all time, new entries are a guarantee, and so it’s just a matter of when Game Freak and Nintendo announce what’s coming next.
IfPokemon Sword and Shieldwere any indication, next up forPokemonfans should bePokemon Scarlet and VioletDLC and expansion packs. It’s highly likely thatPokemon Scarlet and Violetwill be getting DLC at some point in the near future, but details on what that DLC may entail have not been announced at the time of this writing. However, some fans think books inPokemon Scarlet and Violethint at the DLC, while others think those same books hint at the next games in the series.

In theScarletbook, players can see a sketch that is potentially aParadox Suicune, whileViolethas a sketch that appears to be a Paradox Virizion. Others posit that these are actually amalgamations of the respective legendary trios that Suicune and Virizion belong to, but that’s up for debate. While it’s possible these Pokemon will appear inPokemon Scarlet and VioletDLC, Reddit user redjaypeg has put forward the theory that these sketches are pointing to the next games in the series. Suicune is from Generation 2, whereas Virizion is from Generation 5, so the theory is that those generations will get remakes or related games next.
Generation 2 has already had remakes in the form ofPokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver, but that doesn’t mean the Johto region can’t be revisited in a futurePokemongame. The hypothetical game mentioned by redjaypeg isPokemon Legends: Celebi, a potential sequel to theacclaimedPokemon Legends: Arceus. Previously, it was rumored that Johto would be revisited in a sequel to thePokemon Let’s Go PikachuandLet’s Go Eeveegames, but that never came to pass. Regardless, it seems safe to say that manyPokemonfans would jump at the opportunity to revisit Johto.
As far as the Generation 5 games go, the most likely scenario is that they would be represented in potentialPokemon Black and Whiteremakes. With the release ofPokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearlin 2021,Pokemon Black and Whiteremakeswould be next in line, after all.
Of course, it’s possible the sketches found inPokemon Scarlet and Violetare hinting at DLC or are showcasing scrapped Pokemon designs. Fans also think that the latest games in the series may have clues aboutwhere the Generation 10Pokemongames will take place, so it will definitely be interesting to see what happens with thePokemonfranchise in future entries.
