ThePokemon Trading Card Gamehas often included unique designs and very rare cards to make every different set equally appealing, with thePokemon SunandMoonera introducing also regional forms and their card versions. The Pokemon Company is no stranger to making fantastic sketches for thePokemon Trading Card Game, sometimes even allowing fans to participate in contests to show off their artistic prowess and have their creations immortalized in future sets. An example comes from the Illustrator Pikachu card, which was awarded as a prize for the Corocoro Comic Pokemon Card Game Illustration Contest held in 1998.

After the release ofPokemon Ultra SunandUltra Moon, as customary, The Pokemon Company released sets themed around these Gen 7 games, with the first beingPokemon SunandMoon- Ultra Prism. While Ultra Prism introducedUltra Beastsand the concept of Ultra Wormholes, like the games, some fans noticed a peculiar detail on one of the set’s cards.

A Reddit user by the name of WeedleLover2006 shared a post highlighting how the Pokemon card for Bastiodon from the Ultra Prism set had an Ultra Wormhole on top of a mountain in the background. While this is clearly to create a fitting design for thePokemon Ultra SunandUltra Moonsets, fans are seeing a foreshadowing ofPokemon Legends: Arceusin this picture. This is becausePokemon Legends: Arceus' space-time rifts were a big part of the plot, and the big space-time rift that opened on top of Mount Coronet heavily resembles the Ultra Wormhole on the card.

As such, it’s possible thatPokemon Legends: Arceuswas already in the pipeline whenPokemon Ultra SunandUltra Moonsets were being designed, as the Ultra Prism set was released in December 2017. This wouldn’t be too much of a surprise, considering thatFuecoco’s “presence” inPokemon Ultra SunandUltra Moonwas later found by fans, possibly hinting at Sprigatito’s evolution through the female main character.

Pokemon Legends: Arceusrapidly became one of the most positively-reviewedPokemongames in the franchise after its release, and it even got its ownPokemon Trading Card Gamesets. Recently, aPokemonfan showed off a massive collection of cardsin their “living Dex,” and while it didn’t include the Bastiodon card possibly foreshadowingPokemon Legends: Arceus, it did include Hisuian Pokemon from the game.
