Summary

A prolificPokemonfan has recently shared three new ability forms for Cubone. Ability forms are a popular trend inPokemonfan art in which the artists devise new forms for classic creatures inspired by the abilities they have in the games.

Cubone first appeared inPokemon Red and Blue. In these games, the Ground-type Pokemon could only be found in the Pokemon Tower in Lavender Town or the Safari Zone inPokemon Yellow. The creature evolves to Marowak starting at Level 28 and is a very popular monster that has raised a few questions from fans of the franchise due to the nature of its skull helmet.Pokemonfans often create theories about Cubone, including whether the creature is a flameless child of a Charizard or the offspring of a Kangaskhan, wearing its mother’s skull.

Now, a Pokemon fan called Matratzfratz has devised an amazing fan art piece, giving Cubone three new forms based on its abilities Lightning Rod, Rock Head, and Battle Armor. Each of these forms is pretty unique, with all of them wearing different helmets. Cubone’s Lightning Rod form has a similar skull helmet, but with a huge horn in the middle and menacing sparks coming out of it, while Rock Head has its head stuck inside a rock. In the Battle Armor form, the Pokemon gains a mace and an actual medieval helmet.

Cubone Ability Form Pokemon Fan Art

Matratzfratz is a prolificPokemonfan artist, and this is not the first time that they have created new ability forms. Earlier this year, for example, thefan devised ability forms for Seedot. The form inspired by the Pickpocket ability turned Seedot into a bandit with a black mask, while Early Bird transformed it into a bird coming out of an egg. Finally, the Chlorophyll form looked like a plant.

Other fans, however, often have unique takes on ability forms. For instance, last month anotherPokemonfan designed human forms for Eevee based on its abilities. In this case, the fan devised one human-inspired Eevee and then depicted it with three different poses inspired by Adaptability, Anticipation, and Run Away.

Cubone is a pretty popular Pokemon, and some other fans have even more creative ideas on how to represent it in fan art. Earlier this year, one fan made animpressive Cubone model out of a bike chain, for example. The complete model greatly resembled the Ground-type Pokemon, and it looked really good, as it even represented the creature holding its iconic bone.
