Pokemon Shining DiamondandBrilliant Pearlare both filled with rare and powerful Pokemon that players can pursue on their quest to complete their Pokedex and the Sinnoh League. Some of these Pokemon, though, are nearly impossible to find in the wild unless players know where exactly to look.
Feebas is infamous even outsideShining DiamondandBrilliant Pearlfor how difficult it usually is to find out in the wild. While not exactly powerful, it can evolve into the beautiful and strong Milotic if players put the effort into raising it.

As loyal remakes to the originalDiamond/Pearl, most non-Sinnoh Pokemon are locked in the postgame, which means players can be limited in their selection. One Pokemon that players may want to get for themselves is Milotic. Unfortunately, its pre-evolved form, Feebas, is exceptionally hard to find in the wild. SinceBrilliant Diamond & Shining Pearlhas been out for a while now, new and updated ways have been discovered that make getting Feebas much easier. This guide has been updated to include more information on catching Feebas and Milotic.

Before going out to find Feebas, players will need to have the following:
Strength HM
Catching Feebas
Feebas can be found in the Underground Lake located inside Mt. Coronet. Before going out onto the lake, it’s important to use Defog on the area so that players can properly see all the tiles.
Unlike other Pokemon that spawn in the water, Feebas will only appear when fishingon one specific tilein the Underground Lake. This specific tile is different for each player and additionally changes daily. It has no visual appearence that makes it different from other lake tiles. It is highly recommendedopening the Step Counter appon the Poketchin order for players to accurately tell if they are moving over to another tile.
Players should start in one corner of the lake and fish on each tile with theSuper Rodaround four or five times to make sure Feebas isn’t on the tile. If Feebas doesn’t appear, players can move onto the next tile. This will take a long time, but players should eventually find Feebas. After finding the tile, it can be fished multiple times for multiple Feebas.
The Trainer’s ID and Feebas
Recently, there has been a method of getting Feebas inBDSPthat relates to the player’s Trainer ID.
WithBrilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl’s 1.13 update, the old generator will not work. Use the one provided in the source link.
For those that don’t know, the Trainer ID can be accessed by visiting the trainer’s profile in the Pause menu. Every Trainer ID is different, so no one will be the same. Speak to the receptionist at Jubilife TV anddraw a lotto number. With this number,plug it into Day 1 on the generator. Then, on the next day, visit Jubilife TVagainanddraw another number. UnderDay 2, click the Plus sign, put in the new ID, and thenclick Generate.This will reveal a map of the lake on the bottom floor in Mt. Coronet. Green tiles are guaranteed Feebas spawn spots while Red tiles are 50/50.
Evolving Feebas into Milotic
As expected with a Pokemon as unusual as Feebas, it has an unusual method of evolving into Milotic. Those used to evolving it with a Prism Scale are out of luck withBrilliant DiamondandShining Pearl, as that evolutionary item doesn’t seem to be in the games at all.
To evolve Feebas into Milotic, players need to raise Feebas’s beauty stat to maximum by feeding itDry Poffins. Dry Berries to use as ingredients in these Poffins for maximum effectiveness are:

The best way to get a high-level Poffin is by havingfour different kinds of berries. Having a Poffin with two of the same berries will make aFoul Poffin, which isn’t something players want to feed their Feebas. One example of aDry Poffinrecipe is by mixing the following:
Remember that Pokemon have different likes and dislikes. A Milotic with a Mild, Modest, Rash, and Quiet Nature will have a preference for Dry Poffins, making it easier to max out its Beauty. A Milotic that dislikes Dry flavors (Jolly, Careful, Impish, Adamant) will take longer for its Beauty Condition to grow.
After bringing Feebas’s beauty stat to the most it can be, it just needs to level up once in order to evolve into Milotic.
Stat-wise, Milotic has a base stat total of 540. Its highest stats are its Special Attack (100) and Special Defense (125). Thus, havinga Nature that lowers its Special Attack/Special Defenseisnotrecommended for Milotic. Some recommended Natures for Feebas and Milotic are the following:
While Milotic learns some decent Water-type moves, it’s a good idea to use TMs on it. Teach Milotic Ice Beam via TM so it can have coverage against Grass-type Pokemon. Additionally, players will want to teach Milotic Scald, which is a Water-type move that hasa 30% chance of burning its target.
