A Reddit user by the name of Drakeyeschrade shared a brief video showing the evolution screen for Zubat, with a very unique and rather gruesome perspective. In fact, thePokemon Brilliant DiamondandShining Pearlplayer claims that the agitated flight of Zubat alternating with that of Golbat makes it so it seems like a chase, with the former being the prey and the latter being the predator. This is especially notable when Golbat in the background starts to grow while Zubat shrinks, creating the illusion of Golbat eating Zubat in the process.
Another player commented saying that this view, while dark and not the actual representation of what’s going on, would probably be realistic if Pokemon truly existed, as a sort of evolutionary chain where the superior species outlasts the inferior one. Still, Zubat’s evolutionary line is one of the best in the entirety of Generation 4 due toCrobat being one of the best Poison-type Pokemonand also gaining immunity to Ground moves, which would be super effective against it.

A great example comes fromGarchomp’s creepy following animation, which sees the Pokemon flying ominously over the ground. There are other examples of bad animations that made players angry or amused as well, and it’s likely thatPokemon Brilliant DiamondandShining Pearlwill remain iconic games moving forward.
