APalworldplayer has discovered that Hangyu has a creepy Paldeck entry.Palworldis an open-world survival game where players can collect creatures known as Pals. But despite having a colorful world where they can do friendly things like building and farming,Palworldhas dark gameplay and story elements.

One of these elements is the Black Marketeer, anNPC responsible for trafficking Palsand humans inPalworld. In aGrand Theft Auto Online-esque twist,Palworldplayers can break local laws and activate a “criminal activity warning,” leading to a potential confrontation with the police. Pals,Palworld’s adorable creatures, also have their share of bizarre facts, such as the theory that they are genetically modified humans. But the creepy factor surrounding Pals goes further, as onePalworldplayer discovered that one of the creatures has a Paldeck entry that’s far from family-friendly.

Reddit user Kenkaboom discovered that Hangyu has a creepy Paldeck entry revealing that the Pal was part of a torture method. The player shared the screenshot with text saying that the Ground-type Pal’s giant arms are powerful enough to rip apart iron. But the darkest part of the Paldeck entry says that Hangyu was used to kill serious criminals. The method was particularly cruel: criminals would be strung up in a public square, with a Hangyu tearing the skin from their bones. Although Hangyu has horrifying lore, thePal isn’t that scary in combat. On the other hand, the creature is a good option for early-game players who want an efficient way to travel through the air, as Hangyu can be used as a sort of glider.

Palworld Player Discovers the Story Behind Hangyu

Hangyu’s Paldeck entry reveals the Pal’s dark origins, but in the comments, other players noted that it’s not the only Pal to have this kind of register. One Redditor highlighted Lifmunk, which in some cases killed its master once it started using weapons, a contrast toPal’s usefulness in gathering plants. Another creature mentioned was Nitewing, a Neutral-type Pal that takes newborns to raise as its own and fattens them up to hunt them. A third comment recalled Incineram, a Fire/Dark-type Pal that takes its prey into its territory and “does things that aren’t too hard to imagine.”

WhilePalworldproved to be a divisive game for different factors, Pocketpair’s open-world survival title continues to move through early access. The game’s core content has been entertaining the community and making headlines, butPalworldpromises even more features in the future. With so much potential to explore, players wait to find out how sinister potential new Pals' stories might be.
