Season 5 ofOverwatch 2has officially begun. Players can experience the hero and map changes, the return of the beloved On Fire mechanic, and new fantasy-themed cosmetics in the refreshed Battle Pass inOverwatch 2now.Approximately every two months,Overwatch 2rolls out a new seasonal update. The Battle Pass has been refreshed, replacing the space opera Starwatch theme with Questwatch, its high fantasy counterpart. All players can earn the Slime Queen Echo and Rogue Kiriko skin through the Battle Pass, but those who get the Premium version will unlock several others, including Demon Lord Reinhardt, Royal Guard Genji, and Adventurer Tracer, theMythic Skin forOverwatch 2Season 5.

Outside the Battle Pass,Overwatch 2Season 5 is bringing some big changesto the game. While it is not introducing a new hero, it is tweaking several existing ones, with buffs to Roadhog and Lifeweaver, nerfs to Junker Queen, Widowmaker, and Hanzo, and changes to the crowd control effects of Mei and Cassidy.Overwatch 2is also adding new lighting variants for the Busan and Rialto maps, as well as a full rework of Gibraltar. Lastly,Overwatch 2brought back the popular On Fire mechanic fromOverwatch 1with new features to make it even more engaging.

Players can look forward to several excitinggame modes inOverwatch 2Season 5. Over the next couple of months,Overwatch 2will debut two new game mode events in the arcade: a creator-made workshop game mode, and the scavenger hunting Mischief and Magic mode. Additionally, players can expect the return of the Summer Games, which will feature the familiar Lucioball along with the brand-new Winston’s Beach Volleyball game.

Even though Season 5 just began,Overwatch 2has already begun teasing Season 6. Lauded as its biggest update yet,Overwatch 2: Invasionbrings the long-awaited PvE content, with three story missions surrounding a new Null Sector attack and the reforming of the Overwatch group. Players can also look forward to a new PvP game mode, a co-op event, and Hero Mastery solo challenges. If that were not enough, Season 6 is also introducing a mysterious new Support hero to the roster. Season 6 will likely arrive in August, soOverwatch 2players have a couple of months to enjoy Season 5 while they wait for this exciting update.

Overwatch 2is available now in early access for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
